Kalki Koechlin is in mood to kick up a storm. Even though there seems to be fight of supremacy between Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol for a better role in SHANGHAI, one actor who is just playing a wait and watch game is Kalki.
Apparently, she is quite pivotal to the film and instead of playing a quintessential leading lady, she is pretty much one of the three main leads with revenge on her mind.

”Kalki is quite pivotal to the film but since the promotional aspects are currently centered on only Emraan and Abhay, she isn’t making any noise. However you would start hearing a lot about her when the film comes closer to release,” informs a senior crew member.

As per insiders, the character played by Kalki decides to take revenge due to an incident that had happened to her in the past. However once she lands in this small town in India, she comes in touch with the other male leads and plots her revenge.
When contacted, Dibakar was initially hesitant to reveal much about Kalki’s presence in the film. He said, ”All I can tell you is that she is not playing a typical Hindi film heroine role who is just required to stand next to a hero and makes him look good.”
On further prodding, he did open up a little on the revenge element as well. ”Kalki is going through an emotionally volatile situation in the film. She is also very vulnerable in a ‘do or die’ mission. To take her revenge, she would go to any extreme limits. That’s all I can reveal as of now.”
Guess for the rest we would have to wait for the promos which are expected to be out in the month of April.
