When director Avinash Kumar Singh started writing the story of his film LISTEN AMAYA with his wife Geeta it was actually a two minute short film. However the director decided to expand on the film into a whole length feature film.
Director Avinash reveals, ''It was LISTEN AMAYA chatting on a couch a short two minute film between a mother and a daughter. It became a five minute odd story. We were busy with another film RAAG MALHAR at that time and we sent the script to a friend for some feedback. He read the story and sent it back and said we are fools to make it into a short film. Why not make a full length feature film. Geeta and me sat over it and thought of reworking on it.''
The director further adds, ''However RAAG MALHAR didn't happen because we didn't get the finance for the film and we decided to work on LISTEN AMAYA.''
