Rajesh Khanna, India’s first Superstar, left an indelible mark on Indian cinema, and now his granddaughter, Naomika Saran, is all set to step into his shoes. Peepingmoon.com has learned exclusively that Naomika, granddaughter of Khanna and veteran actress Dimple Kapadia, will make her Bollywood debut this year.
The romantic comedy is to be introduced to the audience by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, with Naomika playing lead opposite Agastya Nanda, the grandson of the Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan. Even so, details are being kept under wraps of this film, though insiders tell us it will be a commercial entertainer, classic Maddock-style, with peppy music, grand dance numbers, and heart tugging family drama.

The celebrated Punjabi filmmaker Jagdeep Sidhu, who has established with blockbusters like Qismat, Qismat 2, Shadaa, and Jatt & Juliet 3, is directing the film. The filmmaker took to Hindi with this film, after he put words in once celebrated biopics like Saand Ki Aankh and Srikanth.
A stunning girl of 21, Naomika has recently been in the news because of her resemblance to her grandmother, Dimple Kapadia, making way to the screening of her uncle Akshay Kumar’s film, Sky Force. She is the daughter of Rinke Khanna and businessman Sameer Saran. Being born in a film family, Naomika had fancied acting for long, and now-oriented by Dinesh Vijan, she is ready to enter the big Bollywood city of dreams and make a mark.
The unnamed project is very significant as it will mark the first on-screen collaboration of the grandchildren of two of Indian cinema’s greatest legends, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. It is a sheer coincidence that their grandfathers have shared the screen space in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s cult classics, Anand (1971) and Namak Haraam(1973).
Naomika is entering acting for the first time, while Agastya Nanda is already off the ground.
