FROM HEARTTHROB TO ACTION HERO! Noah Centineo as Rambo

Netflix sensation Noah Centineo, known for his lovable roles in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, is set to break away from his romantic comedy image.

Netflix sensation Noah Centineo, known for his lovable roles in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, is set to break away from his romantic comedy image. The actor will reportedly star as young John Rambo in an upcoming prequel film — a bold transformation into the boots of one of cinema’s most iconic action heroes.

The project, titled John Rambo, will explore the character’s origin story based on David Morrell’s 1972 novel First Blood. It is expected to follow Rambo’s early days, including his traumatic experiences during the Vietnam War. The film will be directed by Jalmari Helander, with a screenplay penned by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani.

Stallone Not Involved
Fans of the original franchise are feeling a mix of nostalgia and hesitation. Sylvester Stallone, who played Rambo in five films from 1982 to 2019, is not involved in the prequel. His absence has sparked debate online, with some questioning if a new Rambo can ever live up to the legend.

A viral post on X (formerly Twitter) showed a comparison between Centineo and Stallone, with the caption: “Noah Centineo is attached to star in ‘Rambo’ prequel ‘JOHN RAMBO.’ Sylvester Stallone is not involved.”

Mixed Reactions Online
Reactions from fans have been divided. While some expressed curiosity, many were sceptical. Comments included, “Is he fit for this role?”, “Nobody will compare to the original Stallone,” and “We don’t need more Rambo movies.”

Centineo’s Career Shifting Gears
Centineo has recently ventured into action, having starred in Netflix’s The Recruit. Although that show was cancelled after two seasons, his role in John Rambo seems to solidify his transition from rom-com favourite to full-blown action star.
