Vijay Personally Steps In to Save Jana Nayagan Release Amid Huge Controversy

Vijay has reportedly stepped in to solve the release issues surrounding Jana Nayagan, his expected final film before politics.

The much awaited release of Jana Nayagan may finally be moving forward after months of uncertainty and delays. According to reports, actor and politician Vijay has personally stepped in to help solve the problems affecting the film’s release. Jana Nayagan is being seen as Vijay’s final movie before he fully shifts his attention to politics and his responsibilities as the newly appointed Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Because of this, excitement around the film has remained extremely high among fans.

The big budget film, reportedly made with a massive cost of around ₹500 crore, has been facing several challenges for months. Reports claim the movie got stuck due to certification issues, legal complications and even piracy problems. According to reports, Vijay recently contacted producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions
and asked him to return to Chennai immediately from the Cannes Film Festival. The producer had reportedly travelled to Cannes for meetings and screenings, but Vijay wanted him back to personally oversee the final stages of the release process.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan was originally planned for a Pongal 2026 release. However, reports suggest the film ran into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification because of its politically sensitive storyline and messaging. Officials were reportedly worried about the impact the film could have during the election season. Because of these concerns, the project was sent to a Revising Committee for another round of review.

The certification process reportedly became even slower after one of the important screenings scheduled in March was cancelled at the last moment because a committee member fell ill. This pushed the release further into uncertainty. At the same time, the makers suffered another major setback when a high definition print of the film was leaked online in April. Reports claim the piracy incident caused heavy financial losses and damaged the film’s business prospects.

According to reports, Cyber Crime Police later arrested nine people connected to the leak, including a freelance editor who was allegedly involved in the incident. The leak also reportedly affected the film’s digital rights deal. Earlier, Prime Video
was believed to be discussing a deal worth nearly ₹120 crore for streaming rights, but reports suggest the value dropped significantly after the piracy issue.

Jana Nayagan features a strong star cast including Bobby Deol as the main villain and Pooja Hegde as the female lead. The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj and Gautham Vasudev Menon in important roles. With Vijay now personally involved in solving the problems, fans are hopeful that the film’s release will finally happen soon.
