Welcome To The Jungle continued its strong run at the Indian box office by collecting Rs. 8 crore nett on its first Monday. The film showed a steady hold after a successful opening weekend, suggesting that it has managed to maintain audience interest even after the holiday period. According to early estimates, the film’s Monday collection was around 25 to 30 per cent higher than Bhooth Bangla’s first Monday, even though its opening weekend was only 13 per cent higher. This indicates that the film’s performance is improving as it moves through its first week.
After 5 days, the Akshay Kumar starrer has collected around Rs. 71 crore nett in India. Based on its current pace, the film is expected to finish its first week with a total of around Rs. 94 to Rs. 95 crore nett.
The film performed particularly well in Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, where collections were down by around 35 to 40 per cent compared to Friday. This was better than the overall national drop of about 48 per cent. In comparison, Maharashtra saw a sharper fall of around 55 per cent, which may have been influenced by the stronger holiday boost on Friday in that region.
The opening weekend had already given the film a solid start, and its Monday performance has further improved its position at the box office. The coming weeks will be important in deciding how far the film can go. Alpha is scheduled to release next week, but it is not expected to have a major impact on Welcome To The Jungle’s collections. A bigger challenge could arrive in the third week with the release of Dhamaal 4, another comedy franchise that is expected to attract a similar audience.
The film’s performance during its third week could play an important role in determining its overall success. For comparison, Bhooth Bangla added Rs. 49 crore nett after its second week. If Welcome To The Jungle manages a similar run, it could strengthen its chances of emerging as a hit at the box office.
