Bollywood actor Adi Irani, who has worked in movies such as Baazigar, Welcome, and A Thursday, recently spoke about a stunning experience he had when he was working with Bollywood actor Salman Khan on the set of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. The actor recounted a spine-chilling account of an unplanned situation that left him hurt while shooting for the film.
The Incident: A Glass Frame Crash
During the shoot for an action scene, Salman Khan, being the action-hero in his persona, reportedly tossed Adi Irani into a glass frame. It shattered as Adi was impacted, resulting in small glass splinters sticking in his face and profuse bleeding. It wasn’t just excruciating but also hazardous. Adi battled on through despite the injury because he realized stopping the shoot would impact the schedule of the day and the business of the production.
No Apology from Salman Khan
It hurt Adi even more than that was the response or lack of it from Salman Khan. From what Adi said, despite having seen the extent of the accident and witnessing his co-star bleeding, Salman did not issue a word of apology or even of concern. All that the actor supposedly did was walk away from the scene and head to his room, leaving Adi to pick up the pieces on his own.
Powering Through the Pain
In spite of the hurt and injuries, Adi Irani chose to go through the pain. Keeping in mind the losses incurred by the producers, he did not want the shoot to be halted or interrupted. After getting some minor treatment for his injuries, Adi went back to the set to resume the shooting. His professionalism and dedication towards the project were clear as he preferred to concentrate on the production instead of the hurt incurred due to the accident.
Moving Forward
Although the incident was traumatic, it didn’t seem to affect Adi’s career in the long run. Over the years, the actor has continued to work in a variety of films and TV shows, building a successful career. His candid recollection of this on-set mishap with Salman Khan, however, offers a glimpse into the sometimes hazardous nature of working in the film industry, especially during action-packed sequences.
In spite of Salman’s failure to apologize, Adi Irani decided to look beyond the issue and continued with the show a reflection of his professionalism and commitment to his work.
