New details have come out a day after reports claimed that Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt have ended their relationship. According to a source quoted by People, the former couple is currently trying to figure out how to peacefully co parent their daughter Scottie after the breakup. The source said that while both would like to stay friendly in the future, things are difficult between them right now.
The insider shared that the relationship had already started facing problems during Hewitt’s pregnancy. “They were already struggling a bit while Elsie was pregnant,” the source said. “Things just happened so quickly between them and they didn’t know each other very well.”
The report also mentioned that Davidson, 32, and Hewitt, 30, are “not getting along” behind the scenes after becoming parents. However, they are still trying to manage parenting responsibilities together for their infant daughter.
Speaking about their current situation, the source said, “She’s not fighting Pete on seeing the baby, but it’s not smooth sailing.”
The insider also described Davidson as someone who values family deeply and said the actor still wants things to work out. “Pete is a softie” who does “want to be with the woman he has a child with,” the source added.
At the same time, the report mentioned that the breakup was reportedly mutual and that a reconciliation has not been completely ruled out.
Representatives for both Davidson and Hewitt have not yet publicly commented on the reports.
Earlier, The Sun had reported that Davidson’s busy work schedule may have played a role in the split. According to another source, Hewitt reportedly wanted more support from Davidson at home after the birth of their daughter.
The source said, “Pete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born.” The insider added, “It was very hard for him because, obviously, he has to work to make money.”
Another source claimed that the separation happened recently and that both are now focused mainly on raising their daughter Scottie.

Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt first made their relationship public during a vacation in Palm Beach in March 2025. Later in July 2025, Hewitt revealed her baby bump through an Instagram post.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, on Dec. 12. Hewitt had introduced her baby online as their “perfect angel girl.”
Davidson has spoken openly in the past about wanting to become a father. During an appearance on Hart to Heart in 2022 with Kevin Hart, he had said, “[I’m] definitely a family guy.”
He had also shared, “My favorite thing ever — which I’ve yet to achieve — is I want to have a kid,” adding that he was “so excited for that chapter.”
