Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for the day Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theatres, and ever since Sadie Sink was announced as part of the film’s cast, fans have been trying to figure out one thing: what role is she going to play? While the Stranger Things star has finally acknowledged the speculation surrounding her role, she’s still keeping the answer a secret, adding even more excitement ahead of the film’s release.
In a promotional video shared by the official Spider-Man social media accounts, Sadie Sink playfully responded to the rumours about who she could be playing. “I can confirm I’m not Spider-Man. I can confirm I’m not Aunt May. And I can definitely confirm that I am in this movie”. She then teased, “As for who I really am, you’ll have to find out in theatres”, once again refusing to reveal her character.
Her playful response has only made fans even more curious. Since her casting was first announced, social media has been filled with theories about who she could be playing. One of the biggest fan theories is that Sink could make her MCU debut as Jean Grey, one of the most popular characters from the X-Men comics. Others believe she could be playing a completely different Marvel character. However, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not confirmed any of these rumours.
With just days left until the film’s release, excitement around Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to grow. Along with the anticipation for Tom Holland’s return, many fans are equally eager to see Sadie Sink make her Marvel debut. Her mystery role has become one of the biggest reasons audiences are looking forward to the film.
With the film set to release in theatres on July 31, Marvel continues to keep Sadie Sink’s role a surprise. As for who she is really playing, Sink herself said, “You’ll have to find out in theatres” Whether she turns out to be Jean Grey or someone completely unexpected, fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their answer. Until then, the mystery surrounding her character is only adding to the excitement for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
