Singer Katy Perry took fans on a trip down memory lane by bringing back one of her most memorable stage outfits during a recent concert in Wales. The performance was part of her ongoing European tour and also marked the beginning of a special charity campaign through her Firework Foundation.
Founded in 2018, the Firework Foundation has launched a 21 day sweepstakes in which Katy Perry plans to auction some of the outfits she has worn during her concerts over the years. Before parting with the costumes, she decided to wear one of her classic stage looks one final time.
During her performance at Cardiff Castle on Tuesday, Katy appeared in a red and white polka dot halter bralette paired with a matching mini skirt. She completed the outfit with thigh high white socks and black platform sandals. The same outfit was first worn 17 years ago during the Capital Summertime Ball at Emirates Stadium in London in July 2009.
Later in the show, Katy changed into another eye catching outfit. She wore a white button down shirt styled as a dress with the words “I am not a robot” printed on it. She paired the look with a crystal decorated tie featuring the American flag design.
After the concert, Katy shared pictures of both outfits on Instagram and wrote, “Learned a wee bit of Welsh. Good to see you again Cardigg and rydw I’n llwglyd ac hoffwn gael cabab ♥️.”
As part of the charity campaign, more outfits from Katy’s past performances will be made available over the coming weeks. The collection already includes four additional stage outfits, including a blue sequin look and a pink ruffled two piece set. Both of these costumes were originally worn during her 2009 “Hello Katy” era.
Katy Perry is currently performing across Europe as part of her “Out of Office Tour” festival tour. During the tour, she has been introducing a different outfit from her archive at each show, giving fans a chance to revisit some of the most memorable fashion moments from her career while supporting the charitable work of the Firework Foundation.
