Sohum Shah Returns As Tumbbad 2 Gets Official Release Date

0

The sequel to Tumbbad, titled Tumbbad 2, has been officially scheduled for release on December 3 2027. The announcement was made by the makers through a poster shared on social media. The visual featured statues of three figures along with the film’s title and release date. It also carried the tagline ‘Pralay aayega (Apocalypse will arrive).’

The film marks the return of Sohum Shah, who was also part of the original. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has also joined the cast. The announcement follows earlier promotional material such as a motion poster, which had created interest around the project.

Sharing the update, Sohum Shah wrote, “A sinful past, an ominous future. The hunger rises, the legacy of greed continues.” He also spoke about the direction of the sequel, stating, “Tumbbad has always been very special to me, and with Tumbbad 2, the idea is to take that world forward in a way that feels deeper and more expansive. We are building on the mythology and the atmosphere that audiences connected with, while exploring new layers within the story. It’s something that will feel familiar in its essence, but also new in the way it unfolds.”

The film is directed by Adesh Prasad. Speaking about the project, he said, “Taking this story forward has been both exciting and challenging, especially because the first film has such a strong identity. Our focus has been on retaining that soul while pushing the narrative and visual world further. We’re trying to create something that feels rooted in the original, but at the same time offers audiences a fresh and immersive experience.”

The original film Tumbbad released in 2018 and was directed by Rahi Anil Bharve. It received positive critical response but did not perform well commercially at that time. Over the years, it gained a strong following and was re released in 2025, after which it achieved better box office results. The sequel was announced following that renewed interest.

Tumbbad 2 is produced under Sohum Shah Films in association with Pen Studios, with distribution handled by Pen Marudhar.

Stephen Colbert reveals why The Late Show became more political and what led to its ending

0

Stephen Colbert is reflecting on one of the biggest creative pivots of his late-night career, revealing that the political tone of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was not always the plan, but became essential to its success. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Colbert shared that when he first transitioned from The Colbert Report to CBS, his instinct was to move away from politics. At the time, he wanted a broader, more traditional late-night format that did not rely heavily on current events or political commentary.

He admitted he was wary of engaging too deeply with what he saw as an increasingly tense and divided public discourse, and instead hoped to explore other forms of humor.

That approach did not last long.

According to Colbert, a turning point came during the 2016 political convention season. As the news cycle intensified, he felt pulled back toward the kind of sharp, political satire that had defined his earlier career. The shift was reinforced by advice from his longtime collaborator and producer Paul Dinello, who encouraged him to embrace that side of his comedic voice again. Dinello told him plainly that audiences enjoyed seeing him engage politically, and that it was the part of the show that resonated most.

Colbert compared the moment to metaphorically digging up something he had tried to bury. Once he leaned back into political humor, the show found its footing and grew into one of the most talked-about late-night programs of its era. His commentary, often critical of public figures including Donald Trump, became a defining feature of the show’s identity.

Now, as the show approaches its end, Colbert is also addressing the decision by CBS to cancel the long-running franchise. The network announced in July 2025 that The Late Show would conclude, citing financial pressures and the broader challenges facing traditional broadcast television in the age of streaming and digital platforms.

Colbert acknowledged that the economics of late-night television have shifted dramatically. With platforms like YouTube and streaming services competing for audience attention, monetizing traditional broadcast formats has become increasingly difficult. He said he does not dispute CBS’s stated reasons, even as speculation continues about whether external political factors may have played a role in the decision, especially given ongoing regulatory scrutiny tied to corporate mergers involving the network’s parent company.

At the same time, Colbert pointed out that the situation is not entirely straightforward. He noted that less than two years before the cancellation, CBS had been eager to secure him for a longer tenure, suggesting that something significant changed behind the scenes.

As The Late Show prepares to air its final episodes, Colbert’s reflections highlight both the evolution of his own comedic approach and the broader transformation of late-night television. What began as an attempt to step away from politics ultimately became a defining strength, shaping the show’s voice and legacy in a rapidly changing media landscape.

Kris Jenner shuts down claims she regrets her $100K facelift

0

Kris Jenner is not letting rumors about her face go unchecked. The Kardashian matriarch has directly denied claims that she is unhappy with her reported $100,000 facelift, calling the story a “flat out lie” and defending her surgeon, Dr. Steven Levine. The 70-year-old reality star addressed the speculation during an appearance on Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land. Jenner said the headlines claiming she was “mad as hell” about her facelift allegedly “slipping” were completely false and insisted that she is still thrilled with the results. She also said she “adores” Levine and described him as an “artist.”

The rumors began after reports claimed Jenner was upset that her facelift had not held up one year after surgery and was allegedly considering a revision. The same reports suggested she was comparing herself to other celebrities who have recently been praised for their refreshed appearances, including Denise Richards and Lori Loughlin.

Jenner said what bothered her most was not just the gossip about her own face, but the fact that her doctor was being blamed publicly. She made it clear that she was speaking up because she felt the story was hurting someone else’s reputation, not because she wanted to fuel more conversation about her appearance.

Her denial comes after she openly discussed the procedure last year in Vogue Arabia. At the time, Jenner said she had previously undergone a facelift around 15 years earlier and felt it was time for a refresh. She explained that for her, cosmetic surgery was part of feeling like the best version of herself, adding that everyone should define aging gracefully in their own way.

The facelift first became a major topic of conversation in 2025, when Jenner appeared in public looking noticeably refreshed and many fans compared her to her daughter Kim Kardashian. Kim even jokingly endorsed the transformation on social media, posting a shirt that read, “I’ll have what Kris Jenner is having.”

Recent attention around celebrity plastic surgery has kept the conversation alive. Denise Richards recently shared her own facelift results and praised the decision as one of the best things she had done for herself, while Lori Loughlin has drawn attention for her youthful appearance, though she has not publicly confirmed any procedure.

For Jenner, the issue seems simple. She is not angry, she is not seeking a revision, and she is not blaming her surgeon. According to her, the claims are false, and she remains happy with the work she has done.

Megan Thee Stallion confirms split from Klay Thompson after alleged cheating, emotional posts

0

Megan Thee Stallion has officially confirmed that her relationship with Klay Thompson is over, and her statements make it clear that the breakup was anything but amicable. Through her representative, the Grammy-winning rapper shared a firm and composed message explaining her decision. She stated that trust, fidelity, and respect are essential in any relationship, and once those are compromised, there is no real path forward. She added that she is choosing to prioritize herself and move on with clarity and peace.

However, the situation became much more intense when her personal posts on social media surfaced shortly after. In a now-deleted Instagram story, Megan appeared to directly accuse Thompson of cheating. She wrote about feeling blindsided after being deeply involved in his life, even spending time with his family and building what she described as a “playing house” dynamic. She also suggested that despite her support during his basketball season and personal struggles, Thompson later expressed uncertainty about being monogamous.

The tone of the message was raw and emotional, pointing to frustration over what she described as inconsistent behavior and a lack of commitment. She also referenced dealing with mood swings and difficult treatment during the relationship, which added another layer to the reasons behind her decision to walk away.

The couple had only recently become public. Their relationship first drew attention in mid-2025 when Thompson appeared casually in the background of one of Megan’s social media posts. Soon after, they made their official red carpet debut together at her Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City in July 2025, confirming their status as a couple. From the outside, the relationship appeared stable and serious, making the sudden breakup more surprising.

Since the news broke, Thompson has not publicly responded to either the breakup or the allegations raised in Megan’s posts. His silence has only fueled speculation around what may have happened behind the scenes.

The breakup also comes at a time when Megan has been balancing multiple major commitments, including her recent Broadway run in Moulin Rouge, which she exited earlier than planned. While no direct connection has been confirmed, the timing has drawn attention.

For now, Megan’s message is clear. She is stepping away from the relationship on her own terms, choosing self-respect over compromise, and focusing on her next chapter both personally and professionally.

Tristan Thompson files for conservatorship over brother Amari, citing serious health and care concerns

0

Tristan Thompson has filed for conservatorship over his 19-year-old brother Amari Thompson, citing concerns about his ability to care for himself due to significant medical and developmental conditions. According to legal documents, Thompson is seeking to become Amari’s limited conservator, stating that his brother is “unable to properly provide for his personal needs,” including basic requirements such as physical health, food, clothing, and shelter. The filing also notes that Amari is not capable of managing financial resources or protecting himself from potential fraud or undue influence.

The request outlines that Amari lives with an intellectual disability and developmental delay, conditions that prevent him from making informed decisions about his care or legal matters. Because of these challenges, the documents state that Amari is unable to express a preference regarding who should serve as his conservator.

Amari has been diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe and rare form of epilepsy that typically begins in childhood and can result in frequent seizures, cognitive impairment, and long-term neurological complications. The condition often requires constant medical supervision and long-term support.

This legal move follows an earlier step taken by Thompson in February 2024, when he became Amari’s legal guardian after the death of their mother, Andrea Thompson. At the time, Amari was still a minor. The filing also reiterates that their father has not been involved in Amari’s upbringing for several years, with a prior court ruling determining that reunification was not viable under California law.

Amari has occasionally appeared in public through Thompson’s association with Khloé Kardashian, who has also spoken openly about helping care for him. Due to Thompson’s demanding NBA schedule, Kardashian has taken on a significant caregiving role, keeping Amari in Los Angeles where he can receive consistent care and avoid the strain of frequent travel.

She has previously described Amari as requiring full-time support, noting that he experiences multiple seizures daily and is unable to walk or speak. She also emphasized the importance of creating a stable, compassionate environment around him, both for his well-being and for the benefit of the children in their family.

The conservatorship filing is the latest step in formalizing long-term care arrangements for Amari, ensuring that medical, financial, and personal decisions can be handled in his best interest. The case will proceed through the legal system, where a judge will determine whether the request meets the requirements for conservatorship under applicable law.

The Mummy Shows Strong Growth In Second Week

The Mummy, directed by Lee Cronin, recorded Rs. 1.30 crore on its second Tuesday at the Indian box office. This reflects a growth of around 19 per cent compared to Monday and a 44 per cent increase over the previous Tuesday. The total collection of the film has now reached Rs. 27.15 crore gross in India.

Out of this, Rs. 10.15 crore has come from the first five days of the second week. Based on current trends, the film is expected to close its second week at around Rs. 30 crore. The overall lifetime business is projected to be around Rs. 40 crore in India, assuming steady performance in the coming days.

With this trend, the film is classified as a Clean Hit at the Indian box office. It has also become the second Hollywood success of 2026 in India after Project Hail Mary. The performance pattern is notable as it differs from typical Hollywood releases in the country.

The film is seeing its strongest response in South Indian markets, particularly Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Usually, Tamil Nadu contributes around 10 per cent to Hollywood film collections, with markets like Mumbai, Delhi UP, and Mysore leading. In this case, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions in these two states are performing better than the English and Hindi versions across India.

This trend highlights the wider reach of the horror genre, which tends to attract audiences beyond premium urban centres. In contrast to most Hollywood films that rely on multiplex driven markets, this film is drawing viewers from a broader base.

The box office performance also benefits from familiarity with the title. The earlier Mummy films released in 1999, 2001, and 2008 performed well in India, collecting Rs. 20 crore, Rs. 27 crore, and Rs. 48 crore respectively. When adjusted to present value, these figures are estimated to be around or above Rs. 200 crore. Although the current film is not directly linked to that series, the known title may have helped initial audience recall.

Box Office Breakdown (India Gross)
Friday Rs. 2.00 crore
Saturday Rs. 3.00 crore
Sunday Rs. 4.00 crore
Monday Rs. 1.95 crore
Tuesday Rs. 2.35 crore
Wednesday Rs. 2.10 crore
Thursday Rs. 1.60 crore

2nd Friday Rs. 1.70 crore
2nd Saturday Rs. 3.00 crore
2nd Sunday Rs. 3.10 crore
2nd Monday Rs. 1.05 crore
2nd Tuesday Rs. 1.30 crore

Total Rs. 27.15 crore

Bhooth Bangla Sees Tuesday Growth At Box Office

The Hindi film Bhooth Bangla recorded collections of Rs. 3.75 crore nett approx on its second Tuesday. This reflects a 15 per cent jump compared to Monday, although the growth could have been slightly higher. With this, the total box office collection of the film has reached Rs. 115.75 crore nett approx.

Out of this total, around Rs. 35 crore nett approx has come from the first five days of the second week. Based on current trends, the full second week is expected to close at over Rs. 40 crore nett. The film is currently classified as a HIT and remains on track to reach around Rs. 150 crore nett in its lifetime run. However, compared to earlier expectations, the pace has slowed slightly, making the final outcome more dependent on weekday holds.

The third week will be important for the film’s overall performance. While it has an open run in most Hindi circuits, Maharashtra is expected to see competition from the Marathi film Raja Shivaji. This may lead to some showcasing challenges in that region, although the impact is expected to be limited at this stage of the run.

The distributors have introduced a “Buy One Get One” offer to maintain footfall, especially with new competition entering the market. This move may have been avoidable under normal circumstances, but it has been implemented to counter aggressive showcasing strategies from competing releases.

For Akshay Kumar, the film marks a positive development after a series of underperforming releases post pandemic. While last year saw moderate success with three films performing reasonably well, none achieved HIT status. Bhooth Bangla changes that trend by delivering a clear commercial success.

From a broader trade perspective, consistent output from leading actors plays a key role in sustaining box office momentum. Akshay Kumar remains one of the few actors delivering multiple releases annually, similar to Ajay Devgn. This consistency supports overall theatrical business, especially in a market that relies heavily on star driven films.

Ariana Grande Reveals Details Of Eighth Album Petal

0

Pop artist Ariana Grande has announced her eighth studio album titled petal, which is scheduled for release on July 31. The project will include 12 tracks and will be released under her newly established label BabyDoll Music. This move is notable as it gives the artist ownership of her masters, marking a shift from her earlier releases that were associated with Republic Records.

The announcement generated immediate response across social media platforms. Fans quickly identified the label credit change, which has become an important point of discussion in the current music business environment. Ownership of masters is increasingly seen as a key factor in long term revenue and control over creative work, particularly for established artists.

Alongside the album announcement, new merchandise was introduced through the artist’s official store. Items include vinyl editions described as pearly in finish, along with hoodies and themed socks that align with the album’s visual identity. The design direction for petal appears to draw from earlier phases of her career, with visual elements that reflect styles seen during the Yours Truly and Dangerous Woman eras.

The rollout also received attention from within the industry. Katy Perry reshared the announcement on Instagram, adding to its reach. Such interactions often contribute to cross audience visibility, especially among pop listeners.

This will be Ariana Grande’s first full length album since her 2024 release Eternal Sunshine. The gap between projects includes her involvement in film, particularly her role in Wicked. The transition between music and film has been a consistent part of her recent professional activity.

From a trade standpoint, the release of petal represents both a continuation of her recording career and a structural change in how her music is managed and distributed. The decision to release under a personal imprint suggests a focus on ownership and direct control, which aligns with broader trends among high profile recording artists.

Diljit Dosanjh Calls Jimmy Fallon Brother After The Tonight Show Feature

0

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he spoke about his music and cultural background. The visit was part of promotions for his new album Aura. Following the episode, Diljit shared a note addressed to Jimmy Fallon on social media.

In his post, Diljit Dosanjh wrote, “@jimmyfallon Brother you have such A Positive Aura About You.. 🫶🏽 Thank You So Much For Giving us a Platform to Represent Our Culture 😇🙏🏽 ONE LOVE.” The message was accompanied by behind the scenes clips from the shoot. The content gained traction online and circulated widely across platforms, indicating strong engagement from his audience base.

During the interaction on the show, Diljit Dosanjh spoke about his recent concert in Vancouver and explained why it carried historical importance for him. He said, “That stadium we did in Vancouver…like 1914, our people came first time in Canada, they didn’t allow us to come and go to Canada. And that stadium is just two kilometres away from the Guru Nanak Jahaz Komagata Maru incident.”

He further added context by linking the present day achievement to that past event. He said, “So, it’s a big thing for us now, 55,000 people in the one stadium there, just two kilometres away, you didn’t allow us to come. And now, here we are, man. So, that’s why it’s amazing.” According to him, around 50,000 Indians attended the concert, highlighting the scale of audience turnout.

From a broader perspective, the Vancouver performance represents a shift in cultural visibility. A location once associated with restricted entry has now become a venue where Punjabi music draws large crowds. The artist positioned this as a moment of pride tied to both history and present day acceptance.

On the professional front, Diljit Dosanjh continues to work across music and film. He was last seen in Sardaar Ji 3 and Border 2. His upcoming project Main Vaapas Aaunga, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is scheduled for release on June 12.
