Medha Shankr and Avinash Tiwary are preparing for the release of their film Ginny Weds Sunny 2. As the release date approaches, their off screen interaction and conversations have started getting attention. In a recent interview, both actors spoke about the film, their views on relationships, and their respect for each other’s work.

The film is set to release on April 24 and continues the story from Ginny Weds Sunny. It focuses on two people from different backgrounds whose lives come together in unexpected ways. Through their journey, the film looks at ideas of love, compatibility, and relationships.

Avinash Tiwary shared that the script was the main reason he chose the film. He said, “I think it’s the script that made me really, really jump with joy. It felt like this is one film my entire family would absolutely sit down and watch and thoroughly enjoy. That was one thing that really touched me.” Medha Shankr also spoke about the script and said, “I think the script is damn fun. Like, I haven’t laughed like that while reading a script in a very long time. So, I was sold on that.”

The actors also discussed how the film connects with present day relationships. Avinash mentioned a change in how people view marriage today. “I’ll give you a stat I read somewhere that the marriage percentage has fallen down by almost 28% in this country, which was absolutely known for celebrating weddings and stuff like that. It’s a worthy thing to think about,” he said. He added, “Our film kind of touches upon it. And then also the fact that eventually love triumphs over all the rational that we may have… relationships take a lot of work just like marriage does.”

Both actors also spoke about their appreciation for each other. Medha said, “I feel with Avinash, that there is too much depth in the love his fans have for him… there’s width in the number of fans you have, but not always depth. He has that.” Avinash shared his thoughts after watching 12th Fail, saying, “I saw 12th Fail. I saw her. The film ended. And I said, I’ll work with her. That’s what happened to me. So, I think I was a fan right there.”

Medha also mentioned her admiration for Laila Majnu. “I’m an OG Laila Majnu fan, by the way. I take full pride. I watched the film twice in a theatre. Nobody else did. Not even these guys,” she said.

Talking about the shoot, Avinash recalled a moment when the team travelled together by train and celebrated during the journey. He said, “There was this one time we got the entire train on rent when we were shooting. And on our way back, we were jumping and dancing through the entire trip. We had huge speakers, the entire crew, everyone dancing in the train. I don’t think we get a chance to do that in normal life. So, I think it was an experience that everyone thoroughly remembers and will remember for life.”

David Dhawan has spoken about the online trolling faced by his son Varun Dhawan before the release of Border 2. When the first glimpses of the film were released, some people on social media commented on Varun’s expressions, especially his smile. However, reactions changed after audiences watched the film.

Talking about this, David Dhawan said, “But kya hua? Sab ulat gaya na (But what happened? Everything fell flat on its face).” He explained that he had advised Varun not to worry about such reactions. He said, “Today, everything is work. I told him this will get over. Kuch din baad yehe log bolengi ki ye toh bohot acha hai (After some days, these people themselves will say Varun is very good).”

He also shared his personal reaction to Varun’s performance in the film. “Uski last picture toh mujhey itni achi lagi thi. Uska kaam Border 2 mein… itna roya bhi hun main uss picture mein uske kaam se (I really liked his work in Border 2. I cried a lot after watching his work in the film).” According to him, Varun has shown improvement over time and is moving in the right direction. He added, “Definitely, he has improved and is on the right track. Aur vo apne kaam ki value jaanta hai (And he knows the value of his work). He respects the people around. He’s very careful and tries to give his best.”

David Dhawan also addressed comparisons between Varun and actors like Govinda and Salman Khan. He said Varun does not always like these comparisons but understands they come because of their success. “He doesn’t like it sometimes. He tells me, ‘Papa aap mujhse kya karate rehte ho.’ I tell him that this is my cinema, but you do it like yourself. People will say these things because both Govinda and Salman have been such successful actors with me. It is part of life. Good that he is being compared to good actors,” he said.

Varun Dhawan will next appear in Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde and is set to release on June 12. It will release alongside Main Vaapas Aaunga, which features Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina.

Rajpal Yadav has spoken about his marriage to his wife Radha Yadav and how their relationship developed over time. One of the key aspects of their relationship is the age difference between them, which is around 10 to 12 years. At the time of their marriage in 2003, Radha was 18 years old, while Rajpal Yadav was in his early 30s. This age gap led to some concerns from her family in the beginning. Talking about their bond, Rajpal Yadav said, “I respect her a lot. There’s an age gap of 10–12 years between us, but our communication has always been strong. In fact, when we met, her Hindi was better than mine. She knew five languages… A lot of my friends still ask me, ‘How did you manage this?’ She buys my clothes. I trust her choices – if she could choose me, she can choose anything well. She manages all my expenses. I’m not someone who keeps track of accounts too much.”

After their marriage, Rajpal Yadav supported Radha in continuing her education. She later studied interior design and spent time learning in cities like London and Dubai. Over the years, both have spoken about how they have supported each other through different phases of life.

Anurag Basu has confirmed that his upcoming film starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela is progressing as planned. The film does not yet have an official title, but its production is currently underway and it is expected to release in theatres later this year.
