Actor and Lok Sabha MP Ravi Kishan recently attended an event in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present. During his speech, Ravi entertained the audience with humorous remarks about how Bollywood actresses once hesitated to shoot in Uttar Pradesh due to safety concerns.

He shared that earlier, many actresses believed the state was unsafe and avoided filming there. Referring to Madhuri Dixit, Ravi said that she stayed in Gorakhpur for three days and returned to Mumbai safely. He used this example to highlight how the situation in Uttar Pradesh has improved over time. His comments were meant in a light hearted way and drew laughter from the crowd.

Ravi also added a funny observation about the excitement among fans during Madhuri’s visit. He joked that many people showed up to see her after dyeing their hair, and some of them even had the dye dripping. This added a humorous touch to his speech and showed the kind of craze Madhuri still enjoys among fans.

On the work front, Ravi Kishan and Madhuri Dixit will soon be seen together in a Netflix film titled Maa Behen. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni, who is known for his work on Tumhari Sulu. It also stars Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durga. The story is said to revolve around a dysfunctional family with an interesting twist, although the release date has not yet been announced.

In an earlier interview, Ravi expressed his admiration for Madhuri, calling it a blessing to work with such a legendary star. He mentioned that while he had worked with Sridevi before, he never got the chance to collaborate with Madhuri until now.

Saba Azad has been hospitalised after being diagnosed with an infection caused by Cyclospora cayetanensis. She recently shared details about her condition on social media, describing it as one of the most difficult experiences she has faced. In her post, Saba shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed, making a peace sign. She spoke about how the past two weeks have been extremely challenging for her. She wrote, “Worst 14 days of my life. Cyclospora cayetanensis, you nasty piece of work!!

For someone who only ever eats home food, carries her water bottle everywhere, this bug came outa nowhere, that too at the busiest time of the year for me. I’ve lost 4 kgs that I didn’t have spare in two weeks, and I can barely walk. One day I’m training twice a day, doing pull-ups, lifting heavy and the next I’m half my size, without strength to lift a goddamn toothpick leave alone weights .”

She also used her experience to remind people about basic hygiene while eating. She advised everyone to clean fruits and vegetables properly before consuming them. She wrote, “So pls for the love of your gut wash your salad leaves and veg like your life depends on it cause sometimes it really does!! ” Our new method is Baking soda + veggie wash ( Herbal Strategi has a good one).”

During this time, Saba mentioned that Hrithik Roshan has been by her side and helping her stay positive. She said, “by @hrithikroshan who’s kept my very grumpy spirits up and always manages to find humour in the darnest situations…PS – I haven’t shrunk quite as much as it may seem here, the bed is supersized, and the angle is wide,” showing appreciation for his support.

Varun Dhawan recently spoke about a personal and emotional phase in his life involving his daughter, Lara. The actor shared that she was diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip when she was around one and a half years old. His revelation surprised many fans and gave insight into a difficult time for his family.

Talking about the condition, Varun explained, “My daughter was diagnosed with DDH, in which the hip slips out of the hip socket. Ek pair lamba chota hojaata hai jiski wajah se walk tedi hojaati hai”. He also spoke about the long term effects if not treated properly, including early arthritis and slip disc issues.

He further said, “You get Arthritis early, slip disc early. West main iska bahut accha treatement hota hai birth pe hi India main har jagah nahi hai itna. But yahan bhi bahut acche doctors hai jo iska care karte hain (In the West, this condition is treated very well from birth itself. In India, that level of treatment is not available everywhere yet. But there are also many excellent doctors here who take care of it). She didn’t need to do a surgery. With one procedure they could put the hip back. But she had to be in a spica cast. That means she had to be in cast for 2.5 months. Which is extremely difficult. To put her in anaesthesia and then she woke up in a cast. Now the cast is out. I want to write a book on it.”

Varun and his wife Natasha Dalal welcomed their daughter on June 3, 2024, at Hinduja Hospital. The couple, who have known each other since childhood, got married on January 24, 2021, in a private ceremony with close family and friends.

In the same conversation, Varun also spoke about another challenging moment when his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, was in the ICU. He described feeling helpless during that time but also shared how his father’s attitude inspired him.

He said, “Helpless in that moment…aap kya hi kar sakte ho. But his passion and his resilience even in the weakest of the moment was something which inspired me. Like nothing. Matlab I got so much inspiration that a man in ICU is telling me go and work. Vo keh raha hai jaake kaam karo..producer ka paisa waste mat karo..jaake kaam karo…that gave me lot of power actually in that situation..like in the weakest situation you fight back.. don’t give up.. and me and my brother both went. I could not shoot without my brother that day. I was shooting with Mrunal ..she was there.. again she was very sweet..”

Many filmmakers, actors, and producers received threatening calls and faced pressure. Some incidents turned violent, including the murders of Gulshan Kumar and Mukesh Duggal, which deeply affected the industry and created a sense of fear among people working in films.

Actor Varun Dhawan recently spoke about a personal experience from that time involving his father, filmmaker David Dhawan. He shared that their family also received calls from unknown people, but they did not immediately understand how serious the situation was. He said, “People were getting underworld calls at that time, and we were getting them too. We had been receiving them for quite some time, but we didn’t realise it because the staff was arguing with whoever was calling. The staff even gave out our full address and told the person where to meet, saying, ‘Come meet me in that garden, I’ll beat you there,’”

What seemed like a strange and almost funny situation later became serious. Varun added, “When things escalated, an actor called my dad and said that this had gone out of hand, and that the person was now saying he would come with guns and that he knew our address and office timings. When my dad asked who had said this, he took the staff member’s name. So we had to stay somewhere else that day. It is funny, but it is not funny actually,” showing how quickly things changed.

Filmmaker Farah Khan also spoke about the fear people felt during that time. She remembered being on a film set when news came about Mukesh Duggal’s murder in 1997. She also spoke about threats received during the release of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, directed by Karan Johar. She said, “I don’t know about Shah Rukh getting calls, but I do know that during the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai premiere, Karan Johar had received threats from the underworld. It was very scary. Everyone was discussing whether the premiere should be cancelled or not. Security was increased, but we eventually went ahead with it. Karan was extremely stressed, imagine it’s your first film and instead of celebrating it, you’re worrying about something like this,”

Karan Johar later shared his own experience in his book An Unsuitable Boy. He described a frightening moment when his family received a direct threat. He wrote, “The phone rang. My mother picked it up, and it was a call from the underworld. A man’s voice said, ‘Your son’s wearing a red T-shirt, I can see him right now. And we’re going to shoot him if you release this film on Friday.’ For some reason, they didn’t want the film to be released that Friday; we didn’t know why. It was a call from Abu Salem, and my mother was shaking with terror. She put the phone down and ran towards the door.”

In that situation, Shah Rukh Khan supported him and tried to calm everyone down. Karan recalled, “Shah Rukh said, ‘What nonsense!’ He went inside and dragged me out. He said, ‘I’m standing here in front of you. Let’s see who shoots you. I’m standing right here.’ I said, ‘No, no, no, my mother was…’ He told my mother, ‘Nothing’s gonna happen. I’m a Pathan. Nothing can happen to me and nothing will happen to your son. He’s like my brother. Nothing’s gonna happen.’”

Shah Rukh Khan also spoke about these experiences in King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema by Anupama Chopra. He said, “He would tell me that he could see me. It was like living under a telescope. It was very depressing and very scary,” referring to threats he received.
