Kiara Advani has been away from the spotlight for some time after becoming a mother in 2025. She has been focusing on her daughter, Saraayah Malhotra, with her husband Sidharth Malhotra. Now, she is preparing to return to films with Toxic, which will also mark her debut in Telugu cinema.
In a recent interview, Kiara spoke about how her life has changed after marriage and motherhood. She shared that some parts of her relationship with Sidharth remain the same. She said, “Before marriage, me and Sidharth had the same banter and had fun travelling so those things still remain. We also watch movies together and since we look at it as cinema lovers or as the audience, as well as actors, we get excited to discuss it.”
At the same time, she explained that motherhood has changed the way she looks at life. She said, “I’ve become more of a tigress. The way I see life now, it is through a completely different lens. It’s like nothing else matters, and at the same time, everything matters.” Her words reflect how becoming a parent has brought a deeper emotional understanding and sense of responsibility.
Director Geetu Mohandas, who is working with Kiara in Toxic, also spoke about casting her in the film. She revealed that Kiara was always her first choice for the role of Nadia. She said, “Nadia embodies fragility and ferocity at once, so from the very beginning, she was my first and only choice. There is something about her screen presence that feels deeply human. Sometimes cinema begins not with logic, but with a feeling, and casting Kiara was exactly that kind of feeling.”
Geetu also praised Kiara’s work style and dedication. She added, “Her dedication is not loud or performative. It is quiet, disciplined and deeply sincere. She doesn’t just follow direction. She participates in building the emotional architecture of the character.”
According to the director, the role required Kiara to push herself both emotionally and physically. She explained, “The role demanded a lot, not just as an actor, but as a human being willing to explore difficult emotional terrains. It pushed her physically and emotionally. Suddenly, the person standing in front of the camera was no longer an actor performing, but the character breathing.” She further said, “You realise you are witnessing something fragile and beautiful, like an actor surrendering completely to a story.”
The film Toxic, starring Yash, was earlier planned for release on March 19 but has now been postponed to June 4.
With these changes in her personal life and a challenging role ahead, Kiara Advani is entering a new phase in both her life and career.
