The world of Money Heist may not be ending anytime soon. Even though the original series officially concluded with Season 5 in December 2021, Netflix has now hinted that the popular franchise could continue in a new form. The update comes ahead of the release of Berlin Season 2, titled Berlín y la dama del armiño or Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, which is set to premiere on May 15, 2026.
Netflix recently created a large scale promotional event across the Guadalquivir River in Spain. People wearing the famous red jumpsuits and Salvador Dalí masks from the series were seen during the spectacle, leading many fans to believe that another chapter from the franchise could soon be announced.
On May 10, Netflix shared a teaser clip on its social media platforms with the message, “The revolution isn’t over yet. The world of La Casa de Papel continues.”
The streaming platform further said, “Some stories begin with a perfect heist. And this one changed everything. From the first robbery for cash to the most artistic heist of the century, including the assault that put tons of gold from the Bank of Spain at risk, the world of Money Heist has never stopped growing, evolving, and surprising. But if one thing is clear… it’s that the revolution NEVER ends. From now on, this is the central hub for everything related to the ‘Money Heist’ universe. If you want to be part of the next plan and not miss a single move by the gang, this is the place to be. The ‘Money Heist’ universe continues on Netflix.”
While Netflix has not officially confirmed Money Heist Season 6, the latest teaser strongly suggests that the franchise is far from over. The makers appear to be preparing for more stories connected to the heist universe that became a global success after its release.
Meanwhile, actor Pedro Alonso will return as Andrés de Fonollosa, better known as Berlin, in the upcoming second season of the spin off series. The new season will continue the character’s journey and expand the storyline introduced in the first season of Berlin and the Jewels of Paris.
