‘Kartavya’ Trailer Shows Saif Ali Khan Caught Between Duty And Family

0

Saif Ali Khan is set to return with a new crime drama titled Kartavya. The actor, who has spent more than three decades in the Hindi film industry, will be seen playing a police officer dealing with both professional and personal challenges. The series is backed by Netflix and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.

Over the years, Saif Ali Khan has often been described as an actor with western influenced sensibilities. However, his performances in projects like Omkara and Sacred Games have also shown his ability to take on intense and rooted Indian characters. With Kartavya, the actor once again steps into a serious and grounded role.

The recently released trailer gives a glimpse into a tense story built around crime, pressure and moral conflict. Along with Saif Ali Khan, the series also stars Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari and journalist Saurabh Dwivedi, who is making his acting debut with the project.

Directed by Pulkit, the series follows the story of Pawan, played by Saif Ali Khan. Pawan is a police officer who comes under heavy pressure after a journalist is shot while under his protection. As questions are raised about the security failure, he is pushed into investigating the case and tracking down the attacker.

During the investigation, Pawan finds himself caught in a larger network involving power, influence and hidden truths. At the same time, problems in his personal life begin to grow. His family faces threats because of a dispute linked to his brother, creating conflict both at work and at home.

As the story moves forward, Pawan struggles to balance his responsibilities as a police officer with his loyalty towards his family. The series focuses on how every decision he makes brings serious consequences, placing him in difficult situations where there are no easy answers.

Manoj Bajpayee’s Governor teaser revisits India’s 1991 economic crisis

0

The teaser of Governor: The Silent Saviour starring Manoj Bajpayee was released today and it has already caught people’s attention because of its powerful story based on India’s 1991 economic crisis. While the makers have not officially confirmed it, many believe the film is inspired by former RBI Governor S. Venkitaramanan, who played a major role in saving India during one of the toughest financial periods in the country’s history.

The teaser shows Manoj Bajpayee playing a serious and calm RBI Governor who is trying to handle a collapsing economy while facing pressure from all sides. The film seems to focus on a man who quietly worked behind the scenes when India was almost on the verge of financial disaster.

Back in 1991, India was going through a huge economic crisis. The country had very little foreign money left and reports say the reserves were only enough to cover about three weeks of imports. India was dangerously close to defaulting on its international payments.

At that time, S. Venkitaramanan was serving as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He held the position from 1990 to 1992 and became one of the key people responsible for helping the country survive the crisis.

One of the biggest and most shocking decisions taken during that period was sending India’s gold reserves abroad. To arrange emergency loans and avoid default, the RBI pledged a large amount of gold to foreign banks including the Bank of England and the Union Bank of Switzerland. The move was done secretly because the government feared panic among the public.

During the same period, India also introduced major economic reforms under former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao and former Finance Minister Manmohan Singh. These reforms opened up the Indian economy and changed the country’s financial future forever. The Indian rupee was devalued and new policies were introduced to attract business and foreign investment.

The teaser of Governor: The Silent Saviour seems to bring back the tension and fear of that time. Instead of showing a larger than life action hero, the film appears to tell the story of a quiet man who fought an economic battle to protect the country.

With Manoj Bajpayee leading the film, many viewers are now excited to see how Bollywood recreates one of the most important moments in India’s economic history.

Anne Hathaway named People’s World’s Most Beautiful Star 2026

Anne Hathaway has officially been named People magazine’s “World’s Most Beautiful” cover star for 2026, a recognition confirmed by the magazine itself in a major cover feature released in April 2026. In an interview, Hathaway reflected on both her personal evolution and the defining milestones of her Hollywood journey. She spoke candidly about entering her 40s with greater confidence, saying she has become more comfortable with herself and less driven by perfectionism. The feature also highlighted what People described as a particularly strong phase in her career, with projects including The Devil Wears Prada sequel, Mother Mary, The Odyssey and Verity all lined up for release.

A major part of the conversation centered around The Devil Wears Prada, widely regarded as one of Hathaway’s breakthrough mainstream successes. The actress revisited her experience of playing Andy Sachs and spoke warmly about reuniting with her co-stars for the sequel. She praised Emily Blunt, calling her “such a dream of a human being,” while describing Stanley Tucci as “funny and quick.” Hathaway reserved especially heartfelt admiration for Meryl Streep, saying she deeply reveres her and views her as someone who continually pushes herself artistically rather than relying on past achievements.

The renewed attention around Hathaway also comes amid the strong promotional cycle for The Devil Wears Prada 2, which reunites Hathaway with Streep, Blunt and Tucci nearly two decades after the original film became a pop culture phenomenon. Multiple recent reports confirm that the cast has actively spoken about their reunion during interviews and promotional appearances.

Verified reports additionally note that Hathaway has embraced nostalgia surrounding the franchise. During the sequel’s press run, she recreated several iconic fashion moments associated with Andy Sachs, including re-wearing a famous green coat from the original film for a television appearance in New York.

The original The Devil Wears Prada remains one of Hathaway’s most commercially successful and culturally influential films. The movie, starring Hathaway alongside Streep, Blunt and Tucci, reportedly grossed over $326 million globally and became a defining fashion comedy-drama of the 2000s. Reports from the film’s production history also confirm Hathaway was not initially the studio’s first choice for Andy Sachs, something she later cited as a reminder to persevere professionally.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya Reveals He Was Replaced From Ad For Being “Kaala”

0

Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who was recently seen in Undekhi Season 4, has spoken openly about racism and colour bias in the entertainment industry. In a recent interview, the actor shared his personal experience and said that discrimination based on skin colour still exists in casting and advertising work.

Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Dibyendu recalled an incident where he was removed from an advertisement project just a few days before the shoot. According to the actor, discussions about the project had been going on for 4 to 5 days and the shoot was scheduled to begin soon. When he contacted the team to confirm the schedule, he was informed that he had been replaced.

Sharing the experience, Dibyendu said, “This is an issue and it is very rooted. Just a few days ago, I got cast for an advertisement and for 4-5 days discussions went on and just three days later, the shoot was supposed to happen. So I asked them are we doing the shoot or not? They said, ‘Nahi Dada, aapko replace kiya kyunki aap kaale ho aur kaala actor nahi chahiye.’”

The actor further mentioned that these were the exact words used by the makers. However, he clarified that he personally did not feel hurt by the comment because he is comfortable with his own identity. At the same time, he said the incident reflects a much larger issue that still exists in society and within the entertainment industry.

Dibyendu explained that such thinking develops from a young age and is connected to the lack of proper social education and values. He believes that unless people are taught equality and social ethics during their early years, these problems will continue.

He further added, “It’s very unfortunate par aap kuch nahi kar sakte ho. Jab Aapki buniyaad hi, primary education mein aap social ethics, norms introduce nahi karoge toh aap yeh nahi kar sakte (But you can’t really do much. If you don’t introduce social ethics and norms at the very foundation, during primary education, then this can’t be achieved).”

The actor’s comments have once again brought attention to the issue of colour discrimination in the entertainment world and the need for wider conversations around representation and social attitudes.

The seven BTS members, RM, Jin, SUGA, j hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, later appeared together on a balcony in front of cheering fans. Many people had gathered in the historic plaza to catch a glimpse of the group. Heavy security arrangements were also seen in the area because of the large crowd.

From Ghajini to Baby John: Bollywood’s biggest South Indian remakes

0

Bollywood has been remaking South Indian films for decades and the trend is only getting bigger. Some of the biggest Hindi blockbusters, cult classics, and fan favorite comedies actually started their journey in Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam cinema. From action packed mass entertainers to emotional dramas and comedy gems, South Indian films have often provided Bollywood with stories that connected strongly with audiences across India.

What makes this interesting is that many people still do not realize their favorite Bollywood movie was originally made in the South. In several cases, the Hindi versions became even bigger nationwide hits.

One of the biggest examples is Ghajini. The film starring Aamir Khan was a remake of the 2005 Tamil film of the same name. Both versions were directed by A. R. Murugadoss. The Hindi version created history by becoming the first Indian film to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the box office.

Then came Wanted, which changed the image of Salman Khan completely. The film was adapted from the Telugu blockbuster Pokiri starring Mahesh Babu. Many fans believe Wanted was the film that revived Salman’s career as a mass action superstar.

Another major remake success was Singham. The original Tamil version starred Suriya, while the Hindi remake featured Ajay Devgn. The movie became so popular that it eventually turned into a full cop universe in Bollywood.

Rowdy Rathore also came from the South. It was adapted from S. S. Rajamouli’s Telugu hit Vikramarkudu. The film gave audiences a larger than life action entertainer packed with comedy, action, and catchy dialogues.

Thrillers also found their way north. Drishyam was a remake of the Malayalam classic starring Mohanlal. The gripping story about an ordinary man protecting his family became a massive success in Hindi too. Its sequel, Drishyam 2, followed the same path and was again adapted from the Malayalam original.

One of the most talked about remakes in recent years was Kabir Singh. The film starring Shahid Kapoor was based on the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy. Both films were directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Despite mixed reactions around its story, the film became a huge commercial hit.

Comedy lovers may be surprised to know that Hera Pheri, now considered one of Bollywood’s greatest comedy films, was actually adapted from the Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking. Even today, the film’s dialogues and scenes are part of internet meme culture.

Chachi 420 starring Kamal Haasan was also inspired by a Tamil film called Avvai Shanmugi, which itself took inspiration from the Hollywood film Mrs. Doubtfire.

Romantic dramas also joined the remake wave. Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was adapted from the Tamil film Minnale. Interestingly, R. Madhavan starred in both versions. Even though the Hindi film was not a huge hit initially, it later became a cult favorite among Bollywood romance fans.

Saathiya was another successful remake. The film came from Mani Ratnam’s Tamil romantic drama Alaipayuthey and was loved for its music and emotional storytelling.

Horror comedy fans know Bhool Bhulaiyaa as one of Bollywood’s most entertaining films, but it was actually based on the Malayalam psychological thriller Manichitrathazhu. The story has now been remade in multiple Indian languages.

The remake culture goes back even further. Ram Aur Shyam starring Dilip Kumar was adapted from the Telugu film Ramudu Bheemudu. It became one of the most iconic double role films in Hindi cinema.

Ek Duuje Ke Liye was remade from the Telugu movie Maro Charitra and also marked Kamal Haasan’s Hindi debut. The tragic love story became unforgettable for an entire generation.

Political thriller Nayak: The Real Hero starring Anil Kapoor was adapted from the Tamil film Mudhalvan. Even years later, fans still remember its unique one day chief minister storyline.

The remake trend continues strongly even today. Vikram Vedha brought the popular Tamil thriller to Hindi audiences with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.

Jersey was adapted from the award winning Telugu original, while Sarfira came from the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru.

Even Baby John follows the same pattern as it is based on the Tamil hit Theri.

At this point, South Indian cinema has become one of Bollywood’s biggest creative sources. Some remakes stay very close to the original while others add a completely different flavor for Hindi audiences. But one thing is clear. Many of Bollywood’s biggest entertainers would not exist without the powerful stories first told in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema.
