The Karnataka Police issued a notice to a woman sub-inspector for allegedly permitting Kannada film actor Pavithra Gowda, who is the prime accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, to use makeup while in police custody. The case gained attention after Pavithra was seen applying lipstick and makeup, and even smiling, while being taken to her Bengaluru residence for recording details of the crime scene. This behavior raised questions about her apparent lack of remorse.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), S Girish, issued the notice to the woman sub-inspector from Vijayanagar police station, following media scrutiny. Girish stated that Pavithra had access to her makeup at home, where she stayed each night. The woman PSI was responsible for picking Pavithra up each morning to bring her to the AP Nagar police station and should have prevented her from using makeup. Due to this oversight, the sub-inspector has been asked to provide an explanation.
Pavithra Gowda, actor Darshan, and their accomplices are accused of murdering a fan named Renukaswamy on June 10. Renukaswamy had allegedly sent abusive messages to Pavithra, which reportedly angered Darshan.
While rumors suggested that Pavithra was Darshan’s partner, his lawyer denied this, stating they were just friends. Recently, Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi and their son visited him at Bengaluru Central Jail and urged his fans to remain calm amidst the ongoing situation.
