The film, based on RM’s second solo album of the same name, was showcased in the prestigious Open Cinema section, making it the first K-pop documentary to be invited to this category. Despite heavy rain, dedicated fans filled the outdoor theatre at Busan Cinema Theatre to show their support for the BTS leader.

Directed by Lee Seok Joon, the film is described as a “special journal of youth,” exploring the emotional depth of RM, both as an individual and as an artist. The eight-month-long journey highlights RM’s inner reflections, struggles, and moments of candid vulnerability
Ahead of the screening, RM’s collaborators including Balming Tiger’s San Yawn, music director Junkyard (JNKYRD), and others greeted the enthusiastic audience. Director Lee emphasized that the film is “a deep record of RM’s inner self,” resonating with universal emotions that people experience.
The film was well-received at the festival, with RM’s fans showing overwhelming excitement. In a recorded message, RM, also known as Kim Nam Joon, shared his thoughts on the documentary, stating, “This documentary captures the raw, human side of me. What’s ‘Right’ and ‘Wrong’ constantly changes depending on our perspective. Through this work, I’ve come to believe that I’m one of the ‘Right’ people.”
Following the premiere’s success, “RM: Right People, Wrong Person” will be released worldwide in December 2023, giving global audiences a chance to experience the personal and artistic journey of one of K-pop’s most influential figures.
