Fresh off the success of Housefull 5, Abhishek Bachchan has announced his next project Kaalidhar Laapata. The actor took to Instagram to unveil the film’s poster and reveal its release date. The film will premiere on July 4, 2025, exclusively on ZEE5.
Emotional Journey and a Mysterious Tease
Sharing the film’s poster, which features Abhishek sitting on a tree branch alongside a child, he wrote:
“चर्चाओं पर अब फुल स्टॉप! Sometimes, getting lost isn’t a detour, it’s where the real story begins. Full of dreams, twists, and the people who make it worth it.”
The post confirms that Kaalidhar Laapata is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film KD (Karuppu Durai), originally directed by Madhumita Sundararaman, who returns to direct the remake as well. Reportedly, the film is being shot in Bhopal to authentically capture a rural Indian setting.
Just before the announcement, Abhishek had shared a cryptic Instagram post, sparking concern and curiosity. The note read:
“Main ekbaar lapaata hona chahta hoon… ab zara sa waqt bas apne liye chahta hoon.” This emotional statement aligns with the film’s theme of self-discovery and finding purpose in life’s detours.
Housefull 5: A Star-Studded Comedy Success
Meanwhile, Abhishek is also basking in the glory of Housefull 5, a comedy blockbuster that features one of Bollywood’s biggest ensemble casts. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, and more.
Set on a luxury cruise, the film follows a murder mystery involving three men named Jolly and the chaos that ensues when love and suspicion collide.
With both films, Abhishek Bachchan proves his range from slapstick comedy to soulful drama.
