Kapil Sharma’s Cafe in Canada Under Siege: Second Attack in a Month Sparks Outrage!

Kapil Sharma’s Canada Café Attacked Again; AICWA Demands Urgent Action Against Gang Threats

In a deeply alarming incident, comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada, Kap’s Café, was attacked by gunfire for the second time in less than a month. The café, located in Surrey, British Columbia, and jointly owned by Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath, came under fire early Thursday morning, August 7. A video of the attack, circulating on social media, captures more than 25 gunshots, sending shockwaves through both Indian and international communities.

Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility, AICWA Condemns

Following the incident, gangster Goldy Dhillon—associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang—allegedly took responsibility via a Facebook post, issuing a direct threat to Kapil Sharma. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) reacted strongly, condemning the attack and warning of a dangerous revival of underworld influence in the entertainment industry.

AICWA labelled the assault as a “calculated attack on the Indian film industry, its freedom, and its dignity,” drawing parallels to the dark era of the 1990s when Bollywood faced rampant threats and extortion from underworld gangs. “Once again, Indian celebrities are being targeted — this is not just about Kapil Sharma or one property, this is about creating fear across the industry,” AICWA said in a statement.

Pattern of Violence: “Who’s Next?”

AICWA’s statement also pointed to a growing trend of threats and attacks targeting high-profile personalities like Salman Khan, Baba Siddique, and Saif Ali Khan. The post posed a chilling question: “Who’s next?” and warned that such events aim to destabilize India’s cultural identity by silencing its most influential voices through violence and intimidation.

The film body has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to urgently intervene and initiate high-level talks with Canadian authorities to protect Indian nationals abroad. It also demanded better coordination between central agencies and international law enforcement.

Kapil Likely to Get Police Protection

This is the second attack on Kap’s Café within a month. The previous shooting occurred on July 10, and both incidents are suspected to have links with the Laddi gang, reportedly connected to the banned Khalistani terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

With the gravity of threats escalating, Kapil Sharma is expected to receive police protection. Meanwhile, AICWA continues to rally behind him and other artists, stating firmly: “The Indian film industry must never again kneel before fear or violence.”
