Rani Mukerji Wields the Gun Again: Mardaani 3 Poster Drops on Navratri Day 1, Promises Darker, Grittier Thrills

Get Ready for the Ultimate Showdown: Mardaani 3 Poster Released, Rani Mukerji is Back as Fearless Cop Shivani Shivaji Roy

Yash Raj Films marked the auspicious beginning of Navratri with the powerful unveiling of the first poster of Mardaani 3, setting the tone for an intense cinematic showdown between good and evil. The poster teases the return of Rani Mukerji’s iconic character, Shivani Shivaji Roy, with a gripping visual that features her hands clutching a revolver signaling the storm that’s about to follow.

Supported by the chant Aigiri Nandini, a devotional hymn to Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahisasura, the poster sets the tone for the brutal fight Shivani is going to encounter. Without revealing her face, the image still delivers a punch, representing the inner strength and will power that characterize the character. Posting the poster online, the studio captioned: “On the inaugural Day 1 of Navratri, here’s to toasting good triumphing over evil. #RaniMukerji reprises the role of top cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 as she takes on the toughest case of her life. Mardaani 3 releasing in cinemas 27th February, 2026.”

Fan responses to the poster were instant and glowing. “Pahli actress hai Rani Mukerji jinki Mardaani film series bina hero ke chali hai,” posted one fan, noting the unprecedented success of the franchise starring a woman. Another user seconded the feeling, stating, “Solo film bhi chali hai, kisi hero ki zarurat nahi.” Some even demanded a crossover with the Singham franchise: “Singham Again ki jagah agar ek Singham x Mardaani crossover banate to jyada badiya rehta.”

Mardaani 3, directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, is coming to theatres on February 27, 2026. The sequel is touted to be darker and grittier than the first two installments, taking Shivani Shivaji Roy into her most dangerous assignment so far.

The Mardaani franchise is the sole successful women-driven action franchise in India. Both Mardaani (2014) and Mardaani 2 (2019) were praised by critics as well as audiences for their unapologetic depiction of real-life crime and social problems.
