CRACK postponed? SRK’s Anushka’s THE RING to go solo?

The KAABIL v/s RAEES clash that got eclipsed by SRK, Anushka Sharma’s starrer THE RING (working title) with Akshay Kumar’s CRACK is rumoured to receive a surprising flash of good fortune in favour of SRK.

If the market rumours turns true then King Khan Shah Rukh Khan’s most awaited THE RING helmed by Imtiaz Ali and co- starring Anushka Sharma will have a solo release on Independence Day next year.

Though Akshay Kumar was the first one to put his claim for the 2017 Independence Day slot by announcing his next with Neeraj Pandey’s CRACK, however the recent breaking of the first look of SRK’s film with Imtiaz Ali by Salman Khan and the reported strong rumours of Ranbir Kapoor doing a cameo has made Akshay Kumar to do a rethink and wisely so.

We mentioned earlier that Akshay Kumar had an unfavorable experience during ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI DOBAARA clash with CHENNAI EXPRESS. Though the clash got averted but it left a sense of betrayal.

It is believed that Akshay doesn't want this to happen again. The actor who also has good businessman acumen has always pitched for maximum exposure for biggies so that no one ends up eating other’s business, reportedly had a meeting with his director and co –producer and expressed his feelings to better have a solo release of CRACK instead of a clash with SRK, that may give air to old flames of 2013.

It is rumoured that CRACK will come on 2018 Independence Day with some interesting additions that will be planned in due course.

A source close to the production unit adds that while things related to CRACK are still under wrap while the plotline of SRK’s THE RING plus the cameo etc are already out in open.

Plus Akshay has four biggies lined up in 2017 – NAAM SHABANA, JOLLY LLB2, TOILET : EK PREM KATHA and of course Asia’s most expensive and reportedly India’s biggest science fiction – 2.0 with superstar Rajinikanth. So Akshay Kumar can ‘afford’ postponing a film serving good for all. The pressure is on SRK to prove his mettle at box office again.

Point noted. With KAABIL coming an evening earlier then the scheduled 26 January 2017 release date and this reported market rumour of CRACK getting postponed for a year, SRK’s RAEES and THE RING may have reverted the clash technically but the pressure on King Khan to regain his lost kingdom still remains.
