Comedian Kapil Sharma’s Cap’s Café in Surrey, Canada, was attacked again on Thursday, August 7, marking the second such incident in less than a month. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the firing, this time explicitly linking it to Kapil Sharma’s association with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
A purported video of the latest attack surfaced on social media, capturing the sound of over 25 gunshots fired at the café. The eatery, co-owned by Kapil and his wife Ginni Chatrath, is located in British Columbia’s Surrey area. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in either of the two attacks.
Bishnoi Gang Member Issues Industry-Wide Threat
In a now-leaked voice note, a Bishnoi gang member identified as Harry Boxer was heard issuing chilling threats, warning anyone in the entertainment industry against collaborating with Salman Khan. According to India Today, Boxer stated, “The first and now second firing at Kapil Sharma’s restaurant happened because he had invited Salman Khan to the inauguration on a Netflix show.”
The gangster further added, “If anyone works with Salman — be it a small-time actor or director — we will not spare them. We will go to any extent necessary to kill them.” This statement has raised alarm across the Indian film industry, which has already witnessed similar threats targeting other celebrities in recent months.
Gang Issues Open Warning on Social Media
The Bishnoi gang reportedly took to Facebook to claim responsibility for the attack. In a now-deleted post, Goldy Dhillon, an alleged associate of Bishnoi, wrote,
“We take responsibility for the firing in Surrey. We had called him, but he did not hear the ring, so we had to take action. If he still does not respond, our next action will be in Mumbai.”
The post ended with religious slogans, suggesting the group’s attempt to project a broader ideological narrative.

Kapil Sharma Breaks Silence
Following the first attack in July, Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni finally addressed the situation via a collaborative Instagram post. While the couple did not name the attackers directly, the caption made it clear: they do not support or respond to any form of violence.
Meanwhile, authorities in Canada are investigating the incident, and Indian agencies are on alert as gang violence linked to overseas operatives continues to threaten Indian celebrities and interests abroad.
