Janhvi Kapoor’s Chats Reveal Dark Side of Shooting: ‘Camera On Cleavage’

Viral unverified chats allegedly show Janhvi Kapoor raising concerns about scenes in Peddi and claiming Ram Charan supported her on set.

Janhvi Kapoor has found herself at the center of a fresh social media controversy after alleged private Instagram chats surfaced online. The unverified screenshots, which have been widely shared by fan accounts, claim that the actress spoke about feeling uncomfortable with certain camera angles used while filming her upcoming movie Peddi.

According to the screenshots, Janhvi allegedly raised objections to shots that focused heavily on her body rather than her character. In one of the messages that has attracted significant attention online, she reportedly said that she had clearly told the team that she did not want shots focusing on her chest or waist.

The alleged chats further claim that actor Ram Charan supported her concerns during the filming process. Janhvi is said to have written that Ram Charan stepped in and strongly objected to those camera angles, telling the filmmaker that such shots should not be taken again. The messages suggest that his intervention led to tension on set, although there has been no official confirmation of these claims.

The controversy comes at a time when Peddi is already facing criticism from a section of viewers. Since promotional material from the film was released, some social media users have argued that too much attention has been given to Janhvi’s appearance rather than her role as Achiyyamma. Others have questioned how the character has been portrayed in the film.

In another message that has gone viral, Janhvi allegedly suggested that such issues are not limited to a single project. She reportedly expressed frustration and claimed that similar situations happen frequently in the South Indian film industry. The screenshots also show her allegedly discussing the difficulties she faced while trying to explain her concerns to the team.

As the debate gained momentum online, Peddi director Buchi Babu Sana addressed the criticism. In a statement shared on social media platform X, he said that cinema should entertain and connect with audiences without making anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected. He added that the team had listened to the feedback regarding certain scenes and had decided to make changes. The filmmaker also stressed that it was never the intention to objectify or disrespect any female character and reiterated his respect for women both on and off screen.

It is important to note that the alleged chats have not been independently verified. Neither Janhvi Kapoor, Ram Charan, nor the makers of Peddi have officially confirmed or denied the authenticity of the screenshots.
