Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana continues to generate massive excitement as more names join the star-studded cast. The latest update confirms that acclaimed actor Amit Sial has been roped in to play Sugriv, the younger brother of Bali, in the mythological saga. According to Hindu mythology, Sugriv plays a crucial role in assisting Lord Ram in his quest to rescue Sita from Ravana.

As per a Hindustan Times report, a source close to the production revealed, “Amit has shot a few portions of the film, and he will be seen playing the mythological character Sugriv. He and Nitesh Tiwari are working on his appearance to add authenticity to the role.” The source also added that Amit is nearing the completion of his portions for the first instalment.

Grand First Look Unveiled Globally
On July 3, 2025, the makers unveiled the first look of Ramayana: The Introduction with a global launch. The introduction revealed Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana—setting the stage for an epic cinematic universe inspired by the legendary tale of Rama versus Ravana.

The film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, adding further depth to the powerful ensemble. Produced by Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind, the project is being crafted as one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious ventures.

Amitabh Bachchan as the Narrator?
Adding to the grandeur, a Mid-Day report suggests that Amitabh Bachchan may be brought in as the film’s narrator. “His voice adds unmatched gravitas,” said a source. Talks are ongoing, but if confirmed, Bachchan will serve as the sutradhar, giving the film a powerful spiritual anchor.

Release Schedule
Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, with Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
