Saket Chaudhary is a happy man. When he had conceptualized SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS, Farhan Akhtar had just delivered a super-hit in the form of ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA. Still, he didn’t have a massive solo hero success to his name. However, Saket as well as producers Ekta Kapoor and Pitish Nandy were convinced that Farhan would be the man for the job.

Circa 2014 and Farhan today boasts of a 100 crore success in the form of BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG. Obviously, he is on the top of the game and with a film and genre like SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS up his alley, Farhan has delivered with aplomb in this light hearted slice of life tale.
‘Yes indeed,’ says Saket, ‘From the time when we started working on the film to now when we are ready for the release, Farhan has become a huge phenomenon. Yes, he has played light hearted roles before too but this one is a straight-on rom-com. People will now see him in a different avatar.’
As for Vidya, he is confident that she would strike a chord with the audience in a major way.

‘She has done a few heavy duty films in the past. It is after a while that she is doing a romantic mainstream film. This is the reason why she is excited. I am glad that audience is seeing this as well. Reactions have been very positive ever since the promo was released a couple of months back. Pairing of Farhan and Vidya is being much liked. Guess our conviction in bringing them together for the first time has paid off well. After all, I got my dream cast,’ he says.
We would know for sure once the film releases all over on 28th February.
