Finally, there is some good news for ‘Deadpool’ fans as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige just confirmed that the highly-anticipated sequel is at last happening.
The upcoming third film which revolves around the popular foul-mouthed Marvel Comics character, has been on hold since Disney bought Fox in 2019, per Collider.
The latest development comes after Feige opened up on details about ‘Deadpool 3’ while speaking to the publication during a WandaVision press event.
“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now,” he revealed. “It will not be this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor.”
“We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life,” he added.
This means that ‘Deadpool 3’ won’t be beginning production until 2022, which means the film probably won’t hit theaters until 2023.
The 44-year-old actor had an epic reaction to the recent announcement. “Full disclosure: I showed them Spider-Man 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2,” he tweeted.
