As excitement builds for the film’s globally release on November 14th, the world is counting down the days for the Suriya-starrer fantasy action drama Kanguva, directed by Siva and featuring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in crucial supporting roles.
With just days left for its worldwide release, Kanguva, produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, is set to be one of most successful releases in Tamil cinema to date. It is now common knowledge that Kanguva will be distributed on a scale larger than for any previous Tamil feature. More than 700 screens have been reserved in the film’s native state of Tamil Nadu and many more are being added on a daily basis. North India will be releasing the film on a record 3000+ screens, which is likely to be the largest screen count for any Tamil title. Similarly, South India confirmed release to over 2500 screens. It demonstrates solid prior interest both before and the one confirmed North Indian screen will be the widest release of any previous single reel feature film produced there.
With a potential for over 10,000 screens worldwide, which would set a new record or any Tamil movie for its breadth. Like many Tamil movies, this one also stars popular actors and actresses looking to increase appeal across different states and cultures; hence the project will be marketed in five languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on top of the original Tamil version.
