Kaattaan First Look OUT! Vijay Sethupathi’s Deadly Sickle Scene and Fans Are Losing It

Vijay Sethupathi’s intense new series Kaattaan gets a fierce first glimpse; rumours link him to Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, sparking massive fan excitement.

Vijay Sethupathi is all set to return in a powerful new avatar with his upcoming web series Kaattaan, which will soon stream on JioHotstar. The announcement was made on December 9, instantly igniting excitement among fans. To fuel the anticipation further, the makers also dropped the series’ first official glimpse. While the release date is yet to be revealed, the short video alone has been enough to send social media into a frenzy. The series also stars Milind Soman in a key role.

The gripping teaser opens with Vijay Sethupathi standing amid a bustling festival crowd, dressed in a traditional lungi and shirt. With an intense gaze, he hurls a stone toward the crowd before walking in fearlessly, gripping a sickle in his hand. His intimidating presence escalates when a man approaches him; Vijay calmly places the sickle near the man’s neck and delivers the chilling line, “Shivettan sent me.” The teaser sets up what appears to be a gritty, rural action drama. Directed by M. Manikandan, Kaattaan promises to showcase Sethupathi in a raw, rugged role reminiscent of his earlier critically acclaimed performances.

Meanwhile, strong industry rumours suggest that Vijay Sethupathi may also be part of Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Jailer 2. Sources claim Sethupathi has already joined the film’s Goa schedule, where director Nelson is reportedly shooting major segments. Although there has been no official confirmation from the team, the possibility of seeing two powerhouse performers—Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi—sharing screen space again has fans buzzing with anticipation.

Rajinikanth earlier mentioned in May that the shoot for Jailer 2 would continue until December, saying, “Shooting of Jailer 2 is progressing well. It will be December by the time the film ends.” With the timeline aligning, fans are hopeful the rumours may indeed be true.

On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in Thalaivii, co-starring Nithya Menen, a film that blends themes of love, family, and comedy into a heartfelt narrative. The movie has received warm responses for its relatable characters and emotional depth. Additionally, Sethupathi’s cameo in The Family Man Season 3 recently went viral, with viewers praising his effortless screen presence.

With Kaattaan gearing up for release and rumours of Jailer 2 heating up, Vijay Sethupathi is clearly on track to dominate screens once again.
