Marlon Wayans Scores Personal Victory As Ex Drops Child Custody Battle

0

Marlon Wayans has plenty to celebrate right now. The actor and comedian is currently enjoying the success of Scary Movie 6, and now it appears he has also put a major personal legal battle behind him. According to newly filed court documents, Wayans’ ex-partner Brittany Moreland has officially moved to dismiss the child custody case she previously filed against him, bringing an apparent end to a dispute that has remained largely quiet over the past year. Moreland initially filed the custody case in 2024, seeking primary custody of the couple’s daughter, Axl July Ivory.

Wayans opposed the request at the time and sought joint custody instead. Since then, very little information has emerged publicly regarding the proceedings, leading many to wonder whether the two had quietly worked toward an agreement behind the scenes.

Now, the latest filing seems to suggest exactly that.

While neither party has publicly discussed the details of any arrangement, the dismissal indicates that whatever disagreements once existed may have been resolved privately rather than through a lengthy courtroom battle.

And honestly, that’s probably the best outcome for everyone involved.

Celebrity custody battles often become messy public spectacles. Every court filing becomes a headline. Every disagreement becomes entertainment. Children end up at the center of media attention they never asked for.

In this case, however, it appears both parents may have chosen a different path.

One of the more heartwarming details to emerge recently is that their daughter has already begun stepping into the entertainment world herself. Earlier reports revealed that Axl appeared in the film Hudson Avenue, earning a reported daily rate of $1,246 for her work.

While many celebrity children grow up in the spotlight whether they want to or not, there is something refreshing about seeing parents seemingly work together rather than against each other when it comes to their child’s future.

The development comes at a particularly strong moment for Wayans professionally. Scary Movie 6 has become one of the most talked-about comedy releases of the year, helping reintroduce the franchise to a new generation while reminding audiences why the Wayans family has remained such a powerful force in comedy for decades.

Success in Hollywood often comes with public scrutiny, especially when personal relationships are involved. That’s why stories like this stand out. Not because there was a dramatic courtroom showdown, but because there wasn’t.

Sometimes the biggest celebrity legal stories are the ones that quietly disappear.

And if this dismissal truly means both sides have found common ground, then that may be a far more meaningful victory than any court ruling could have delivered.

For now, Marlon Wayans appears to be winning both on screen and off, with a successful movie, a resolved legal dispute and what looks like a more peaceful chapter ahead.

Suriya’s Karuppu Nears End Of Historic Box Office Run With Rs. 308 Crore Worldwide

Suriya’s Tamil film Karuppu is nearing the end of its theatrical run after a successful performance at the box office. Although the movie is still playing in some cinemas, its release on digital platforms last week has largely signaled the final stage of its journey in theatres, as is common for many South Indian films.

During the first four days of its fifth week, Karuppu collected approximately Rs. 1.75 crore, taking its total India gross collection to around Rs. 226 crore. Trade estimates suggest the film will finish its run with an India gross of about Rs. 227 crore.

The film has also performed strongly in overseas markets. Internationally, Karuppu has earned close to USD 8.50 million, which translates to around Rs. 81 crore. As a result, its worldwide box office gross currently stands at approximately Rs. 307 crore and is expected to close at around Rs. 308 crore.

These numbers have helped Karuppu secure a place among the biggest films in Tamil cinema history. Based on India collections, the film ranks as the ninth highest grossing Kollywood film of all time. In worldwide earnings, it currently holds the tenth position among Tamil films.

Tamil Nadu remained the film’s strongest market throughout its run. Collections in the state are expected to finish close to Rs. 154 crore, making it the seventh highest grossing film in the state’s box office history. At one stage, industry observers believed the movie could reach Rs. 170 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. However, a noticeable drop in collections during the weekdays of its second week reduced those chances.

Outside Tamil Nadu, the film also delivered strong performances in several regions. The Telugu dubbed version proved especially successful in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, contributing nearly Rs. 35 crore to the overall total. Karnataka added Rs. 22 crore, while Kerala contributed Rs. 14 crore.

The success of Karuppu is particularly important for actor Suriya, as it marks a major commercial hit after a challenging period at the box office. Industry observers have also noted that the film’s success comes at a significant time for Tamil cinema. With changing priorities among some of the industry’s biggest stars, the strong performance of Karuppu has highlighted the continued demand for large scale star driven films.

Territorial Breakdown Of Karuppu Collections

Tamil Nadu: Rs. 154.00 cr.
APTS: Rs. 34.50 cr.
Karnataka: Rs. 22.00 cr.
Kerala: Rs. 14.00 cr.
Rest of India: Rs. 2.50 cr.

India Total: Rs. 227.00 cr.

Overseas Total: USD 8,475,000

Worldwide Total: Rs. 308.00 cr.

Main Vaapas Aaunga Pulls Off Rare Box Office Feat On First Monday

Imtiaz Ali’s latest film, Main Vaapas Aaunga, has shown encouraging signs at the box office after completing its first weekend in theatres. Starring veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in a leading role, the film recorded a rare achievement by earning slightly more on its first Monday than it did on its opening day.

According to box office figures, the film’s gross collection in India has reached Rs 8.10 crore, while its net collection stands at Rs 6.75 crore. On Monday, the movie earned Rs 1.25 crore across 2,139 shows. This was slightly higher than its opening day collection of Rs 1.15 crore on Friday.

The film’s earnings grew steadily over the weekend. It collected Rs 1.85 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.50 crore on Sunday before adding Rs 1.25 crore on Monday. The trend suggests that the film has benefited from positive audience response and continued interest after release.

Main Vaapas Aaunga has also received appreciation from several well known filmmakers. Director Zoya Akhtar praised the project on Instagram Stories, writing, “Congratulations to beautiful people for the beautiful film Main Vaapas Aaunga.”

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap congratulated editor Aarti Bajaj for her work on the film with a brief message that read, “Congratulations champion.”

Director Anubhav Sinha shared a longer note expressing his admiration for the film and Imtiaz Ali’s vision. He wrote, “Imtiaz, my friend, so so so happy to see Main Vaapas Aaunga. In times when film directors, for various reasons, are getting ruthlessly stripped of the most vital virtue of their art form, every frame of your film is soaked in that very virtue. BELIEF!!!”

The film is also notable because it marks the second collaboration between Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh after their 2024 Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila. In addition, the project reunites Ali with composer A. R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil. The trio has previously worked together on acclaimed films such as Rockstar, Tamasha, Highway, and Amar Singh Chamkila.

At its core, Main Vaapas Aaunga explores themes linked to Partition, love, identity, and human relationships. Through its emotional storytelling, the film examines the pain, conflict, and lasting impact of historical events that have affected multiple generations.

With stable collections and positive reactions from both audiences and members of the film industry, Main Vaapas Aaunga continues its theatrical run while maintaining attention at the box office.

Ram Charan’s Peddi Crosses 393 Crore And Continues Strong Box Office Run

Peddi, the multi sports drama starring Ram Charan, continues to perform strongly at the box office after its release on June 4. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and featuring music by A.R. Rahman, the film has collected more than 393 crore worldwide within just 11 days of release. The movie also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar in important roles.

According to box office reports, Peddi has emerged as the highest grossing South Indian film of 2026 so far. The achievement is notable because the film received mixed reactions from some critics, particularly regarding its pacing and length. Despite those concerns, audience response has remained strong, helping the movie maintain momentum in theaters.

One of the key reasons behind the film’s success has been positive word of mouth from viewers. Many audience members have praised the sports drama, emotional moments, and Ram Charan’s energetic performance. His action scenes and screen presence have received particular attention from moviegoers, contributing to repeat viewership in several regions.

The film has also benefited from strong attendance across multiple markets. Reports indicate that many shows have continued to run with high occupancy levels, while several screenings have reportedly sold out. The Hindi version of the movie has also shown impressive growth, helping increase the film’s overall collections and expand its reach beyond its primary audience.

The excitement surrounding Peddi has extended beyond cinema halls. During promotional visits by members of the film’s team, theaters reportedly witnessed enthusiastic reactions from fans. Videos shared on social media have shown audiences cheering and celebrating during special appearances and screenings.

Adding to the ongoing interest, the makers have announced an extended version of the film. Scheduled to be released from Wednesday, the updated cut will include additional scenes that were not part of the original theatrical release. The move is expected to provide viewers with more content and further encourage fans to revisit the film.

The movie’s popularity has also inspired fan activity outside theaters. In some areas, supporters have recreated memorable moments and scenes from the film during local sports tournaments and community events. These activities have helped keep discussions about the movie active on social media and among audiences.

While opinions on certain aspects of the film remain divided, Peddi’s commercial performance has been difficult to ignore. With more than 393 crore earned worldwide in 11 days and strong audience support continuing, the film remains one of the biggest box office stories of 2026.

Jennifer Lopez Says A Giant Cricket Crawling Up Her Neck Mid-Concert Was “Kind Of Horrible”

0

Most performers worry about forgetting lyrics, missing a dance step or dealing with technical issues on stage. Jennifer Lopez had a much stranger problem. A giant cricket crawling up her neck in front of thousands of people. The singer and actress recently looked back on the viral moment from her 2025 concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan, admitting that while fans found it entertaining, living through it was a completely different experience.

Speaking on the SmartLess podcast, Lopez revealed that the incident happened during one of the quieter moments of the show. Unlike her usual high-energy performances packed with choreography and costume changes, she was standing alone under a spotlight singing a slower Spanish song when something unexpected happened.

At first, she noticed the audience screaming.

The problem was that she had no idea why.

According to Lopez, the crowd’s reaction initially felt normal because audiences often cheer loudly during emotional pauses in her performances. But this time, the screams kept getting louder.

Then she felt something on her neck.

That “something” turned out to be a huge cricket making its way across her body while she was still in the middle of performing.

Instead of immediately panicking, Lopez somehow managed to stay composed long enough to finish the final line of the song before reacting. She later joked that the insect was so large it looked like a helicopter when it eventually flew away toward the stage lights.

Looking back, the 56-year-old star admitted the experience was far less funny in real time.

“It was kind of horrible,” she said, adding that if she had fully understood what was crawling on her, she probably would have been screaming along with the audience.

What makes the moment impressive is not the cricket itself but Lopez’s reaction. Most people would have immediately stopped whatever they were doing. Lopez somehow continued singing in front of thousands of fans while an insect crawled up her neck.

That’s the kind of professionalism audiences rarely think about when watching live performances.

Fans often see the glamour of world tours, elaborate costumes and sold-out arenas. What they don’t see are the unpredictable moments performers have to handle on the spot. Sometimes it’s a microphone failure. Sometimes it’s a wardrobe malfunction. And sometimes it’s a giant cricket deciding to join the show.

The original clip quickly spread across social media after the concert, with fans praising Lopez for remaining calm and continuing the performance. At the time, she even laughed about the situation on stage, telling concertgoers that the bug had been tickling her.

Now, nearly a year later, Lopez seems able to laugh about it too.

But judging by her latest comments, it is probably not a concert memory she plans on reliving anytime soon.

Of all the unexpected things that can happen during a live show, becoming an unwilling taxi service for a giant cricket has to rank near the top of the list.

Anya Taylor-Joy Joins The Hunt For Gollum And Fans Are Already Curious About Her Mysterious New Character

0

Middle-earth just got a little more interesting. Anya Taylor-Joy has officially joined the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, the next major chapter in the iconic fantasy franchise. The actress, who has spent the last few years building one of the most impressive filmographies in Hollywood, will play a brand-new character named Seren, a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm and a trusted agent of King Thranduil. The upcoming film is being directed by Andy Serkis, who is also returning to play Gollum, the character that helped define an entire generation of fantasy cinema. Set between The Hobbit trilogy and The Lord of the Rings films, The Hunt for Gollum follows Gandalf and Aragorn as they search for the elusive creature before Sauron’s forces can reach him first.

For longtime Tolkien fans, this period of Middle-earth history has always been fascinating because much of it was only briefly referenced in the books. That gives filmmakers room to explore stories that audiences have heard about but never actually seen unfold on screen.

Taylor-Joy’s casting immediately stands out because she feels like a natural fit for Tolkien’s world. Whether it was her commanding presence in The Queen’s Gambit, her unforgettable role in The Witch, or her action-heavy turn in Furiosa, she has repeatedly proven that she can balance elegance, mystery and intensity all at once.

And let’s be honest, if there is one actress working today who already looks like she could walk straight out of an elven kingdom, it is probably Anya Taylor-Joy.

The film is bringing back several familiar faces, including Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo and Lee Pace as Thranduil. New additions include Kate Winslet, Jamie Dornan and Leo Woodall, making it one of the most ambitious Lord of the Rings projects in years.

What makes this announcement particularly exciting is that fans have been nervous about every new Lord of the Rings project since the original trilogy set such an impossibly high standard. Every casting decision is scrutinized. Every story choice is debated. Every trailer is picked apart frame by frame.

But Taylor-Joy is one of those rare casting choices that feels difficult to argue against.

She brings star power without overshadowing the material. She has experience with fantasy worlds. Most importantly, she has the kind of screen presence that makes audiences pay attention the moment she appears.

Of course, the real challenge will be whether The Hunt for Gollum can capture the magic that made audiences fall in love with Middle-earth in the first place. Nostalgia can only take a franchise so far. Fans want compelling characters, meaningful stakes and the sense of wonder that made the original films feel timeless.

Still, if the goal is to convince audiences that there are more stories worth telling in Tolkien’s world, casting Anya Taylor-Joy is a very strong start.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is currently scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 17, 2027.

Kunal Kemmu Makes Reality Show Hosting Debut With Alliance

0

Prime Video has announced that its upcoming reality series Alliance will premiere worldwide on June 26. The show introduces a new format for the streaming platform, becoming Prime Video’s first daily series globally. New episodes will be released every day, offering viewers a continuous reality show experience.

Alliance is also notable for marking actor Kunal Kemmu’s debut as a reality show host. Known for his work in comedy, drama, and thriller films, Kemmu will take on a new role as the face of the competition series. The show is based on a popular Dutch format created by John de Mol and developed by Talpa Studios. The Indian adaptation has been produced by Banijay Asia.

The Hindi language reality series will be available not only in India but also across 240 countries and territories worldwide. The launch forms part of Prime Video’s entertainment lineup connected to this year’s Prime Day celebrations.

The format of Alliance centers on strategy, teamwork, and changing relationships. The show begins with 16 contestants entering the competition as duos. However, as the game progresses, contestants discover that partnerships are not guaranteed to last. Alliances can help players move forward, but they can also become obstacles as the competition intensifies.

The concept is built around shifting loyalties and unpredictable gameplay. Contestants must constantly adapt to changing situations while trying to stay in the game. In the end, only one participant will remain and be declared the winner.

Speaking about the series, Nikhil Madhok, director and head of Originals at Prime Video India, said, “We are thrilled to bring Alliance, to audiences across the country. As a first of its kind format for India, Alliance will combine strategy, shifting loyalties, and constantly evolving gameplay, creating a truly immersive experience that will keep our audiences engaged every single day from start to end.”

He also highlighted Prime Video’s ongoing collaboration with Banijay Asia and pointed to the growing popularity of unscripted content among viewers. According to Madhok, the success of recent reality and entertainment shows has encouraged the platform to continue investing in new formats.

With daily episodes scheduled to release at 12 noon, Alliance aims to offer viewers a different style of reality competition. Combining strategy, competition, and changing alliances, the series will test how contestants navigate relationships and challenges while competing for the top spot. The show premieres globally on June 26.

Gilmore Girls Is Leaving Netflix In The US, But The Bigger Question Is: Do We Really Own Anything We Stream?

0

When news broke that Gilmore Girls would be leaving Netflix after 12 years, fans immediately went into panic mode. Social media was flooded with emotional reactions, angry posts and even threats to cancel subscriptions. For many viewers, Stars Hollow wasn’t just a TV show. It was comfort television. It was autumn, coffee, Luke’s Diner and late-night rewatches rolled into one. But here’s the important detail many headlines are leaving out. Gilmore Girls is leaving Netflix in the United States on June 30. International viewers, including those in many other countries, are still expected to have access to the series for now.

Which raises a bigger question.

If a show can disappear in one country while remaining available in another, who actually owns our entertainment anymore?

Streaming was supposed to make life easier. A decade ago, Netflix felt like the future. Everything was in one place. No DVDs. No cable boxes. No hunting across multiple services just to watch a single show.

Fast forward to 2026 and the opposite has happened.

Today, every major studio wants its own streaming platform. Warner Bros. has HBO Max. Disney has Disney+. Paramount has Paramount+. Amazon has Prime Video. Content constantly moves around based on licensing agreements that most viewers never even hear about until their favourite show suddenly disappears.

The Gilmore Girls situation perfectly captures that frustration. For younger viewers, the series practically feels like a Netflix original. The show arrived on Netflix in 2014 and found an entirely new generation of fans through streaming. Netflix even produced the revival series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life in 2016.

Yet despite being so closely associated with the platform, licensing realities still win.

That’s the strange thing about modern entertainment.

We don’t actually collect television anymore.

We rent access to it.

One month a show is available. The next month it’s gone. Sometimes it moves to another service. Sometimes it disappears entirely. Sometimes it becomes available only in certain countries.

And viewers are expected to keep up.

The irony is that streaming services were originally sold as an escape from cable television. Instead, many consumers now juggle multiple subscriptions just to watch the same content they could once find in one place.

For Indian viewers, this particular departure may not change anything immediately. Gilmore Girls remains available on Netflix India at the time of writing. But the reaction surrounding the show’s US exit reveals something much larger than a licensing update.

People aren’t simply upset because a show is leaving.

They’re upset because streaming has trained us to build routines around content that we don’t actually own.

And every time a beloved series disappears, we’re reminded that our favourite comfort watch is only ours until a contract says otherwise.

Tu hai meri bestie, tasty hai tera flavor
Hothon se tu chhoone de zara…
Looks tera glow kare, to lagti hai glamor
Main hoon tere pyaar ka maara…

Kaise bani, kaise bani
Kaise bani, haaye daiya kaise bani?
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!

Arre kaise…
Kaise bani, kaise bani
Kaise bani, kaise bani
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!

Why are you taking me tension too much?
Main to karta hoon love tujhko, kehta hoon sach
Don’t come too closer, oh meri dear
If you will be touching then I will fear!

Suno mix karo dhaniya, pudina
Haseena tu mixer mein
Ab ready recipe hoga, minute bhar ke fixar mein!

Aise bani, aise bani!
Aise bani, aise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!

Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
Fulori bina chatni kaise bani!
