Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company have released the first look teaser of the upcoming film Raja Shivaji. The teaser had earlier been shown in theatres along with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where it received a strong response from the audience. Now that it has been released online, it has further increased interest in the film.

The movie is based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, one of India’s most respected historical figures. The film aims to show his journey on a large scale and present his story to audiences across the country. It focuses on themes like courage, determination, and vision, especially highlighting the idea of Swarajya and how it shaped history.

Riteish Deshmukh plays the lead role in the film and is also directing it. The teaser gives a glimpse of an emotional and powerful story, showing the struggles and strength of a leader who made a big impact on history. It combines action, drama, and strong emotions to connect with viewers of all age groups.

The film also has a large and well known cast from both Hindi and Marathi cinema. Along with Riteish Deshmukh, it features Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Boman Irani, Amol Gupte and Genelia Deshmukh.

The film is made on a large scale with detailed sets, strong action scenes, and high production quality. The music is composed by the well known duo Ajay–Atul, and the cinematography is handled by Santosh Sivan, who is known for his international work.

The film is presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under Mumbai Film Company. Raja Shivaji is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on May 1, 2026. It will be available in Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu, aiming to reach a wide audience across India and beyond.

Bihar Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Embassy of India in Tokyo. The event brought together members of the Indian community, special guests, and friends of India to celebrate the culture, history, and contributions of Bihar. The event was led by the Chief Guest, Nagma Mohamed Mallick, who spoke about the importance of Bihar in India’s history and its growing recognition across the world. She also highlighted how Bihar continues to build its identity globally through culture, talent, and progress.

During the event, Pankaj Tripathi shared his thoughts and spoke about his deep connection to Bihar. He said, “The simplicity, struggle, and sensitivity that come from the soil of Bihar form the foundation of my identity. But beyond that, Bihar is also a feeling, one that lives within you no matter where you go in the world. Standing here in Tokyo today, surrounded by people who carry Bihar in their hearts, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride and belonging.”

He continues, “Events like Bihar Diwas on a foreign soil remind us of where we come from. They reconnect us with our roots, our values, and our shared cultural memory. For me personally, it’s always an emotional moment because it takes me back to my journey, my upbringing, and everything that has shaped me as a person and an artist. Being here with my family makes it even more meaningful, because it’s not just about celebrating a state, it’s about passing on that pride and connection to the next generation.”

He concludes, “I truly believe that as we move forward globally, staying connected to our roots gives us strength and clarity. Bihar’s story is one of legacy, learning, and limitless potential and I feel honoured to be a small part of that story.”

The event was organised with the support of Bihar & Jharkhand Association Japan Chapter, led by Anand Vijay Singh. It included cultural performances such as traditional music and dance. Guests also got to experience Bihar’s food and learn more about its art, tourism, and business opportunities.

The celebration ended on a positive note, bringing people together and strengthening cultural ties. It highlighted the pride people feel for Bihar, even when they are living far from home, and made the event memorable for everyone present.

Poonam Pandey created a lot of buzz on social media on March 31 after she shared pictures showing a baby bump. In the post, she announced that she was expecting her first child. After she posted the video, many users quickly reacted in the comments section. Some people said they had already guessed it was a prank. One user commented, “Pata tha mujhe.” Another wrote, “Apun ne toh kal ich likh dala thha “Nice prosthetic” beedu!!!” However, not everyone found it funny. A few users said they did not like the prank and felt it was unnecessary. One comment read, “Ye accha nahi kiya aap ne.”

This is not the first time Poonam has done something like this. In 2024, she had shocked everyone by announcing her own death on social media. Her team claimed that she died due to cervical cancer on February 1, 2024. The next day, on February 2, she appeared and revealed that it was a publicity stunt meant to spread awareness about cervical cancer. That move had also received strong criticism, with many people calling it inappropriate.

On the work front, Poonam was last seen in the reality show Lock Upp, which was hosted by Kangana Ranaut. The show was won by Munawar Faruqui.

Overall, while her latest prank did grab attention, it also received mixed reactions from the public, with some finding it entertaining and others criticizing it.

Bhumi Pednekar recently attended the International Film Festival Delhi 2026, where she shared her thoughts on how roles for women are changing in the entertainment industry. She said that while stories led by women seem to be reducing in mainstream cinema, OTT platforms are offering better and stronger opportunities for female actors.

Bhumi explained that digital platforms have created space for more meaningful storytelling. Bhumi also pointed out that OTT platforms have allowed actresses to take on more layered and bold characters. She said, “But at the same time, there’s a rise of these platforms where we get great opportunities. So absolutely, I think women have always been a lot more courageous, and they are a lot more brave while choosing their scripts.” She further added, “And I think OTT just kind of gives them the right platform.”

She has continued to take on challenging roles in recent years. In Badhaai Do, she played a closeted lesbian, while films like Bheed, Afwaah and Bhakshak also dealt with serious social themes.

Most recently, she was seen in the series Daldal, a psychological crime thriller created by Suresh Triveni and directed by Amrit Raj Gupta. The show is based on the novel Bhendi Bazaar by Vish Dhamija. It follows DCP Rita Ferreira, the youngest officer to lead the Mumbai Crime Branch, as she investigates a dangerous serial killer case in the city.
