Cynthia Erivo Opens Up About Surviving ‘Wicked’ Fame, Ariana Grande Friendship And Online Backlash

0

Cynthia Erivo is looking back at the emotional storm that came with starring in Wicked and Wicked: For Good. According to Variety, the actress opened up about the intense pressure of leading the two-part musical franchise alongside Ariana Grande, calling the experience both life-changing and deeply challenging. Erivo, who played Elphaba opposite Grande’s Glinda, said the past four years often felt overwhelming.

“We were holding on by threads,” she said, explaining that she and Grande tried to protect and support each other through the global fame, endless press tours and online scrutiny.

The actress said she and Grande made a conscious decision early on to nurture their bond while promoting the films. Their matching red carpet looks, joint interviews and visible closeness became a major part of the Wicked campaign.

However, Erivo said many people online questioned whether their friendship was real.

“I think that people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends,” she said. “But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m a friend, then I’m a friend.”

She added that she and Grande still text almost every day.

Erivo also spoke about how some viewers seemed to confuse her with Elphaba herself, especially because she spent so much time publicly associated with the green-skinned character.

“People thought I was being myself, even though I was green,” she said.

The attention became even more difficult during the second film’s press tour. Variety reported that at the Singapore premiere, a man jumped the barrier and grabbed Ariana Grande. Erivo immediately stepped in to protect her co-star.

“Nobody moved,” Erivo recalled. “So I moved because my brain went, ‘Get him away.’”

While many praised her quick reaction, others turned the moment into jokes and memes, calling her Grande’s “bodyguard.” Erivo said those reactions exposed a deeper issue in how Black women are often perceived.

She said the jokes focused on her body, her shaved head and her physicality, turning a protective instinct into something aggressive or controlling.

“I think that we haven’t really come to terms with the insidious nature of how we view Black women,” she said.

Erivo admitted that the backlash made her less interested in campaigning heavily during awards season, saying she felt her humanity had been twisted.

“I just felt like my humanity had been bastardized,” she said.

Despite the difficult moments, Erivo said Wicked changed her life in beautiful ways. She is now back on stage in London with her one-woman Dracula show, where she plays 23 characters and performs around 20,000 words of dialogue each night.

She is also looking ahead to new roles, including playing South African singer and civil rights activist Miriam Makeba in The Road Home.

As for a possible third Wicked film, Erivo said there have been no real discussions yet and that it would take a strong reason for her to return.

“It would take a lot to get me back to do it,” she said. “It has to make sense.”

Still, one of the brightest parts of Wicked remains the friendships she built. Along with Grande, Erivo also praised her bond with Jonathan Bailey, who played Fiyero.

She said it was meaningful that two queer actors could play a straight romantic pairing and still make audiences believe in the love story.

“There’s something really special about that,” she said.

Darrell Sheets’ Autopsy Report Reveals New Details About Former Storage Wars Star’s Death

0

Former Storage Wars star Storage Wars Darrell Sheets’ autopsy report has revealed heartbreaking new details about the reality TV personality’s death, more than a month after he was found dead at his Arizona home. Sheets, best known to fans as “The Gambler” on the hit A&E series, died on April 22 at the age of 67. According to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office in Arizona, the longtime reality star died by suicide after suffering a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The newly released autopsy report also confirmed that Sheets was not under the influence of drugs at the time of his death. Toxicology tests reportedly came back negative for substances including cocaine, fentanyl, and other narcotics, putting to rest online speculation surrounding the circumstances of his passing.

The report described Sheets as “a well developed, well nourished adult male” and also documented several tattoos on his body, including a joker, a checkered flag, a female figure, and the number 58. Officials clarified that none of those details had any connection to the cause of death.

Fans of Storage Wars will remember Sheets as one of the most recognizable faces from the franchise’s early years. He appeared in over 160 episodes between 2010 and 2023 and became known for his aggressive bidding style, larger than life personality, and occasional massive finds inside abandoned storage lockers.

After stepping away from the series, Sheets continued working in the antique business through his Arizona shop, Havasu Show Me Your Junk. Even after leaving television, he remained active online and maintained a loyal fanbase built over more than a decade in reality TV.

In the days following his death, fellow Storage Wars cast member Rene Nezhoda made emotional comments on social media alleging that Sheets had been dealing with severe cyberbullying prior to his death.

“He had a guy really, really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying him,” Nezhoda claimed, urging fans to remember that reality stars are real people behind the television edits. Authorities later confirmed they were looking into those allegations.

The conversation has since sparked renewed debate online about the impact of harassment and social media abuse, particularly toward reality television personalities who often become targets of intense scrutiny from viewers.

A&E also released a statement mourning Sheets after news of his death broke.

“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” the network shared. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

For many viewers, Sheets represented one of the defining personalities of the reality TV boom of the 2010s. His humor, unpredictability, and memorable on screen presence helped turn Storage Wars into one of A&E’s biggest franchises.

Now, with the release of the autopsy report, fans are once again reflecting on the pressures of fame, mental health struggles, and the very real human cost of online cruelty.

Jeena Dil Se Review | Youth Drama That Connects Emotionally

0

At a time when youth-centric films often depend on glamour, exaggerated conflicts, and loud storytelling, Jeena Dil Se takes a far more sincere and relatable approach. Directed by debut filmmaker Adhish Rana, the Hindi romantic drama explores friendship, relationships, love, confusion, and the emotional uncertainty that defines the lives of many young people today. Against a backdrop of casual conversations, emotional misunderstandings, and heartfelt moments, the film attempts to reflect the emotional reality of modern youth with honesty and restraint rather than turning every situation into high-pitched drama.

The film’s biggest strength lies in its simplicity. Jeena Dil Se does not chase grand cinematic moments to make an impact. Instead, it builds its narrative around emotions and situations that feel familiar. Several scenes resemble moments audiences may have personally experienced, especially those navigating friendships, romance, heartbreak, and self-doubt at a young age. The storytelling maintains a gentle and easy rhythm, allowing emotional scenes to feel natural instead of overly designed for dramatic effect.

Lakshya Handa delivers a sincere performance, balancing confidence with emotional vulnerability. Kunal Chhabra brings lively energy to the screen and stands out in lighter moments with his comic timing and natural presence. Ruma Sharma performs convincingly in emotionally demanding scenes and adds depth to her character. The chemistry shared among the cast members becomes one of the film’s strongest aspects. Whether the scenes revolve around friendship or romance, the interactions feel believable and effortless. Despite featuring relatively fresh faces, the cast manages to create an immediate connection with the audience. Actors Yash Purohit and Mehak Jain also play important parts in shaping the film’s emotional graph.

For a first-time director, Adhish Rana handles the subject with notable confidence and maturity. He avoids unnecessary melodrama and gives scenes enough space to unfold naturally. The emotional tone of the film remains balanced and engaging without becoming overwhelming. Rana’s understanding of modern relationships and youthful emotions helps the narrative feel contemporary and authentic, while his restrained treatment keeps the film emotionally grounded.

The dialogues add significantly to the film’s relatability. Conversations sound natural and closely resemble the way young people communicate in everyday life. Rather than relying on exaggerated one-liners or theatrical speeches, the writing keeps things simple, conversational, and emotionally honest. Some moments leave an impact precisely because of their understated nature.

Music blends smoothly into the narrative and supports the film’s emotional mood without becoming intrusive. The songs complement both the lighter and emotional portions of the story while maintaining the youthful energy of the film. Visually too, Jeena Dil Se carries a refreshing appeal. The use of locations across Haryana and other parts of India adds vibrancy and gives the film a pleasing visual texture.

Jeena Dil Se may not attempt to reinvent the coming-of-age romantic drama, but it succeeds in portraying modern relationships with warmth and sincerity. Instead of relying on spectacle or exaggerated emotions, the film quietly connects through relatable situations, simple storytelling, and earnest performances. By the end, it leaves behind the comforting feeling of having watched something honest, gentle, and emotionally familiar.

Movie: Jeena Dil Se
Directed by: Adhish Rana
Featuring: Lakshya Handa, Yash Purohit, Kunal Chhabra, Kanchan Singh Bhuwal, Ruma Sharma, Kiara Diwan, Mehak Jain, Shraddha Joshi, Umakant Choudhary

Travis Kelce Sparks Buzz Over Possible Name Change With Taylor Swift After Wedding

0

Travis Kelce has sparked fresh speculation about his future with Taylor Swift after interacting with a social media post about a possible name change after their wedding. According to Page Six, the Kansas City Chiefs star liked an Instagram post from the podcast Bussin With the Boys, where hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan discussed whether Swift might change her last name to Kelce after marriage. The conversation quickly turned playful when one guest pointed out that Swift is far more globally famous than Kelce, joking that he might be the one who needs to change his name instead.

The hosts first joked about “Travis Swift” before also admitting that “Taylor Kelce” had a nice ring to it. Eventually, they landed on the idea of both stars hyphenating their names to “Swift-Kelce.”

“No, you gotta go Swift-Kelce, Travis Swift-Kelce,” the hosts said during the podcast segment.

Kelce liking the post was enough to send fans into a frenzy, with many calling the interaction hilarious and sweet.

One fan commented that Kelce liking the video was exactly why he is “perfect for her,” while others joked that “Swift-Kelce” actually sounds like a power couple brand.

According to Page Six, Kelce proposed to Swift in August 2025 after two years of dating. The couple is reportedly expected to get married this summer in New York City.

Ahead of their wedding, Swift and Kelce have continued making public appearances together. Most recently, they attended a New York Knicks game, where Kelce supported the Cleveland Cavaliers while Swift watched from courtside.

The pair have become one of the most watched celebrity couples in the world, with fans closely tracking everything from their date nights to wedding rumours.

It was also noted that legal experts believe the couple may consider a prenuptial agreement with confidentiality clauses, given their massive public profiles.

Attorney Sarah Luetto told the outlet that Swift and Kelce may want terms covering privacy, non-disclosure and non-disparagement. However, she added that Swift would likely avoid any clause limiting her ability to write songs about her relationship, since speculation around her songwriting has always been part of her public image.

Whether or not either of them actually changes their last name remains unknown, but Kelce’s Instagram like has definitely given fans something new to obsess over before the wedding.

Steven Spielberg’s ‘Disclosure Day’ Is Already Being Called His Best Film In 20 Years

0

Steven Spielberg may have another blockbuster masterpiece on his hands. Early reactions to Disclosure Day have started pouring in online, and critics are already calling the film one of Spielberg’s strongest works in decades. According to media sources, several reviewers described the movie as “Spielberg’s best film in 20 years,” while many singled out Emily Blunt’s performance as one of the biggest highlights. The upcoming sci-fi mystery has remained largely secretive throughout production, but the first wave of reactions suggests audiences are in for something very different from the legendary filmmaker.

Critics who attended early screenings called the film “weird,” “riveting,” emotional and unexpectedly funny. Several reviewers compared the project to classics like The X-Files and The Twilight Zone, while also describing it as deeply philosophical.

SlashFilm critic Bill Bria called the movie “the weirdest film Spielberg has ever made,” while Collider editor Stephen Weintraub described it as “another towering home run” from the director.

Many reactions specifically praised Emily Blunt, with critics calling her performance “astounding” and emotionally powerful.

The film reportedly blends mystery, science fiction and spiritual themes, with one reviewer describing it as “part mystery, part Twilight Zone, something entirely new.”

The buzz surrounding Disclosure Day has only intensified after Universal Pictures dropped what appears to be the film’s final trailer.

In one moment featured in the trailer, Spielberg reflects on humanity’s fascination with extraterrestrial life, saying he now believes more strongly than ever that humans are not alone in the universe.

“I am much more inclined now than when I made Close Encounters to say that we are not the only intelligent life in the universe,” Spielberg says in the clip.

The statement immediately reignited fan excitement online, especially among longtime followers of Spielberg’s iconic alien-themed films like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. and War of the Worlds.

The film stars Emily Blunt alongside an ensemble cast and appears to center around mysterious global events connected to extraterrestrial or supernatural phenomena. However, plot details are still being kept tightly under wraps.

Fans are also excited to hear that legendary composer John Williams has once again collaborated with Spielberg for the film’s score, with critics already praising the music as haunting and unforgettable.

The movie arrives at a time when audiences have increasingly been craving large-scale original storytelling instead of sequels and franchise films, making Disclosure Day one of the most anticipated releases of the summer.

Social media reactions have already started comparing the film to Spielberg’s classic era, with some viewers saying it captures the emotional wonder and cinematic spectacle that made his earlier work iconic.

Disclosure Day is set to release in theatres on June 12.

Karuppu Nears Third Week With Strong Occupancy And Steady Collections

The Karuppu starring Suriya is continuing its strong performance at the global box office. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film combines mythology and courtroom drama, which has helped it attract audiences in India and overseas.

Even during the usual weekday slowdown in theatres, the movie has managed to maintain steady collections. In the film, Suriya plays Saravanan, a determined lawyer who takes inspiration from the local deity Karuppusamy. The role has added emotional and cultural depth to the story, which audiences seem to be connecting with.

On Day 13 of its theatrical run, Karuppu crossed the Rs 258 crore mark worldwide. The movie’s total global gross collection now stands at Rs 258.85 crore. With these numbers, the film has officially become the highest grossing movie in Suriya’s career.

The film’s steady performance has also helped theatres, especially regional cinema halls, attract more audiences again. Both single screen theatres and multiplexes have reported consistent footfalls for the movie.

Even on a regular Wednesday, the film recorded around 25% to 28% occupancy during evening and night shows. Trade analysts believe the film’s strong story and Suriya’s popularity are helping it stay stable despite weekday drops.

The overseas market has played a major role in boosting the film’s overall earnings. By Day 13, international markets had contributed nearly Rs 70 crore to the worldwide total.

The movie has performed well in regions such as North America, Malaysia, Gulf countries and Europe. Reports suggest that the strong support from the overseas Tamil audience has helped maintain stable collections even during weekdays.

In India, the film’s total net collection currently stands at Rs 163.20 crore, while the domestic gross collection is estimated at around Rs 188.85 crore.

On Wednesday, the movie earned nearly Rs 4 crore net, which was around 10% lower than the previous day. However, trade experts see this as a normal weekday trend rather than a major decline.

As Karuppu enters its third week in theatres, its future performance will depend on audience response and competition from upcoming releases. Since the film has already crossed the collections of several post pandemic regional hits, the industry is now closely watching its third weekend performance to see if it can continue its successful run.

Universal’s Massive Kids Theme Park Opens This July With Minions, Shrek, Jurassic World & SpongeBob Worlds

0

Universal is officially entering its Disney-style family era in a big way. The entertainment giant has finally revealed the opening date for its brand-new Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, and honestly, it looks like every Gen Z and millennial childhood dream mashed into one giant theme park. The resort officially opens on July 1, and it’s packed with worlds inspired by some of the biggest animated franchises ever including Shrek, Jurassic World, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, Trolls, Puss in Boots and Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Yes, this is basically chaos for children in the best possible way.

Unlike Universal’s bigger thrill-heavy parks in Orlando and Hollywood, this new destination is specifically designed for younger kids and families. But the attractions still sound massive.

One of the biggest highlights is the Jurassic World Adventure Camp, where visitors can ride the “Cretaceous Coaster,” spin through a DNA-themed ride, climb lookout towers and even come face-to-face with baby raptors.

Meanwhile, Shrek fans can enter Shrek’s Swamp, a giant interactive land featuring water rides, fairy-tale attractions and an “ogre love story” experience based on Shrek and Fiona.

And yes, SpongeBob’s Bikini Bottom is becoming real.

The Nickelodeon-themed area recreates famous locations from the cartoon, including Jellyfish Fields, Mrs. Puff’s Boating School and Mussel Beach.

But the true chaos may come from the Minions-themed water attraction called “Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club,” where yellow and purple Minions battle it out in what Universal describes as a completely unpredictable splash-filled experience.

The park will also feature TrollsFest, a glitter-heavy musical world inspired by DreamWorks’ Trolls franchise, complete with dance parties, makeover stations and themed rides.

For parents, Universal is also opening a 300-room Kids Resort Hotel attached to the park, with vacation packages, annual passes and multi-day tickets already on sale.

The new resort marks another huge expansion for Universal after the company launched Epic Universe in Orlando last year and announced plans for a future UK-based theme park near London.

Social media reactions to the new Kids Resort have already exploded online, especially among fans shocked that franchises from Universal, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon and Netflix are all being combined into one destination.

Honestly, the internet is already calling it “the ultimate iPad kid paradise.”

Drishyam 3 Enters Top 5 Malayalam Films Worldwide Despite Weekday Drop

The Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, has now entered the list of the top 5 highest grossing Malayalam films worldwide. The crime thriller had a strong opening at the box office, but its collections slowed down during the weekdays.

After opening with impressive numbers, the film saw a decline on Day 2. Collections improved slightly on Day 3 and Day 4, but the movie started earning in single digits from Day 5 onwards. On Day 6, the collections dropped further, while Day 7 remained mostly steady.

According to Sacnilk, Drishyam 3 earned Rs 15.85 crore on its opening day. On Friday, the film collected Rs 11.05 crore, followed by Rs 13.70 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, the movie earned Rs 13.85 crore. However, collections dropped on the first Monday, with the film making Rs 7.70 crore.

On Day 6, the movie collected Rs 6.50 crore. On Day 7, the film showed a small 2.3% growth and earned Rs 6.65 crore net across 4,721 shows with 32.8% occupancy.

With this, the total India net collection of Drishyam 3 now stands at Rs 75.30 crore, while the gross collection in India has reached Rs 87.38 crore.

The movie has also performed strongly in overseas markets. On Day 7 alone, the film earned Rs 5 crore internationally, taking its overseas gross total to Rs 95.70 crore. The worldwide gross collection of the film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, currently stands at Rs 183.08 crore.

The film recorded an overall 40.35% Malayalam occupancy on Wednesday, with Kochi reporting the highest audience turnout at 66%.

With these numbers, Drishyam 3 has crossed the worldwide collection of 2018, which had earned Rs 180 crore globally. The film is now expected to challenge the box office total of Vaazha 2, which collected Rs 235 crore worldwide.

Along with Mohanlal, the film also features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil and Asha Sharath in important roles.

Meanwhile, the Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn is scheduled to release in October.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Struggles Despite Crossing Rs. 38 Crore

The comedy drama Pati Patni Aur Woh Do continued its box office run with a slight drop in collections on its second Wednesday. The film earned around Rs. 1.10 crore on Day 13, which was nearly 10 per cent lower than its previous day collection.

With this, the movie’s total collection for the second week reached around Rs. 10.35 crore in 6 days. Combined with its first week collection of Rs. 28 crore, the film’s overall box office total now stands at Rs. 38.35 crore nett in India.

According to current trends, the film is expected to finish its second week with around Rs. 11.50 crore. The movie may complete its theatrical run at nearly Rs. 50 crore nett at the Indian box office.

Even though the collections improved slightly during the second weekend, the film has already been considered a flop commercially because of its weak opening and overall performance. Industry reports also suggest that some collections include feedings, which means the final numbers should be viewed carefully.

The film’s performance once again highlights the struggles faced by small and medium budget comedy films in recent years. Before 2020, small town comedy dramas regularly performed well in theatres and attracted large audiences. During 2018 and 2019 especially, several films from this genre became successful at the box office.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana was one of the leading stars of that trend, delivering many successful films during that period. Trade observers believe that if Pati Patni Aur Woh Do had released before 2020, its performance could have been stronger.

The day wise box office collection of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is as follows:

Week 1: Rs. 28.00 crore

2nd Friday: Rs. 1.25 crore
2nd Saturday: Rs. 2.50 crore
2nd Sunday: Rs. 3.25 crore
2nd Monday: Rs. 1.00 crore
2nd Tuesday: Rs. 1.25 crore
2nd Wednesday: Rs. 1.10 crore (estimated)

Total: Rs. 38.35 crore

The film is now expected to continue its theatrical run for a limited period before completing its journey at the box office in the coming weeks.

Chand Mera Dil Sees Drop On Day 6 After Decent Opening Week

The romantic drama Chand Mera Dil, starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, recorded a slight drop in collections on Day 6 at the box office. According to early estimates, the movie earned between Rs. 1.50 crore and Rs. 1.75 crore on Wednesday.

With this, the film’s total collection after 6 days in theatres has reached around Rs. 15.50 crore nett in India. Backed by Dharma Productions, the movie is expected to finish its first week with around Rs. 17 crore gross collection in the domestic market.

Directed by Vivek Soni, Chand Mera Dil now needs strong growth during its second weekend to maintain a steady run at the box office. Romantic dramas and medium budget films have found it difficult to perform consistently in theatres after the pandemic period. However, there have been a few successful exceptions in recent years, including Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which performed very well commercially.

The movie has received mixed reactions from audiences so far. While many viewers appreciated the performances of the lead actors and the film’s music, overall word of mouth has remained average.

The day wise box office collection of Chand Mera Dil is as follows:

Day 1: Rs. 2.75 crore
Day 2: Rs. 3.50 crore
Day 3: Rs. 4.00 crore
Day 4: Rs. 2.00 crore
Day 5: Rs. 1.75 crore
Day 6: Rs. 1.50 crore (estimated)

Total: Rs. 15.50 crore

For those unaware, Vivek Soni had earlier directed Aap Jaisa Koi for Dharma Productions before taking up Chand Mera Dil. The latest film continues to attract audiences mainly in urban centres, but its long term performance will depend heavily on weekend growth and audience response in the coming days.
