Cardi B is looking at all of those US election trends and feeling unsure. Cardi is freaking out about the fact that former President Donald Trump might be winning it instead, after endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the position. Cardi tweeted, “We need a Hail Mary” on the night of the results.
In a divided America facing a significant decision for the country’s future Tuesday, former President Donald Trump scored early wins in reliably Republican territory, while Vice President Kamala Harris gained a similar margin in solid Democratic ground.
Republican candidate Trump had secured 230 electoral votes, while Democratic Party’s Harris had won 179, according to races called by the Associated Press up to 9:34 am (IST).
Polls closed in seven battlegrounds widely regarded as the most likely to determine the election: Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Nevada, though results there remained too close to call.
Recently, Cardi B also responded to a statement from Tesla CEO Elon Musk about her. When she supported the Kamala Harris campaign, he called her a “puppet.”
“Another puppet who can barely speak without a prompter,” Musk wrote, adding, “There is nothing authentic or empathetic about the Kamala campaign.”
To which Cardi B replied, “I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents who had to bust their ass for me to be able to have a roof over my head! And I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty, I’m a product of what happens when the system is rigged against you!… But you don’t know anything about that. You don’t know one damn thing about the plight of Americans… PS get my algorithm right.”
Speaking at a rally, Cardi B shared: “Especially women, I’ve played the underdog, people underestimated me, downplayed my success, discredited me. Let me tell you something—women have to try ten times harder, do ten times better, and even then people question how we got there. Although I despise a jerk, I do confront one like Kamala, and that’s a Deadline-exclusive quote.”
