Jung Ho Yeon and Lee Dong Hwi, who had been in a relationship for nine years, have reportedly parted ways, according to South Korean media reports that emerged on November 26. Both stars’ talent agencies have confirmed the breakup, with an official statement noting that they will continue to remain on good terms as colleagues and friends within the industry.
The couple began dating in 2015 and publicly acknowledged their relationship the following year. Lee Dong Hwi, known for his role in Reply 1988, had previously shared insights into their relationship on variety shows, while Jung Ho Yeon, who gained global fame from Squid Game, often expressed how proud Lee was of her success.
Lee Dong Hwi was last seen in Chief Detective 1958 and will appear in a new tvN variety show, Living in a Rented Room in Finland, starting December 6. Jung Ho Yeon, a rising star in both Korean and international cinema, has recently gained recognition for her role in Disclaimer on Apple TV+ and has upcoming projects such as Hope alongside Zo In Sung, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender. She is also set to star in The Hole opposite Theo James.
Despite the breakup, it seems that both Jung and Lee will continue to support each other professionally and remain amicable friends.
