Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 continues its impressive run at the Kerala box office, adding another milestone to its successful theatrical journey. The crime thriller collected Rs. 1 crore on its second Thursday, taking its total second week collection in Kerala to Rs. 19.15 crore gross.
After 15 days in cinemas, the film’s total collection has reached Rs. 82 crore gross. This strong performance has helped Drishyam 3 become the 7th highest grossing Malayalam film of all time in Kerala. The latest achievement further strengthens the film’s position as one of the biggest Malayalam releases in recent years.
The movie has now surpassed the lifetime Kerala box office collection of Aadujeevitham, which earned Rs. 79.30 crore gross in the state. With its current momentum, Drishyam 3 is now moving closer to the collections of Pulimurugan and L2 Empuraan. Trade observers expect the film to overtake both titles during its third weekend, which would place it among the Top 5 highest grossing Malayalam films in Kerala.
The coming weeks will be important for the film’s long term box office performance. From this weekend, Drishyam 3 will face competition from Mollywood Times, a factor that could affect its collection pace. However, if the Mohanlal starrer maintains steady audience support through its third and fourth weeks, it has a realistic chance of entering the Rs. 100 crore gross club in Kerala.
The film’s box office journey began with a massive opening day collection of Rs. 11.00 crore. It continued strongly over the first weekend with collections of Rs. 8.80 crore on Day 2 and Rs. 9.20 crore on Day 3. The movie remained consistent through its first week and continued to attract audiences during its second week despite the expected drop in daily earnings.
As of Day 15, the estimated Kerala box office collection stands at Rs. 81.85 crore, while the overall gross collection has reached around Rs. 82 crore. With several milestones already achieved and more records within reach, Drishyam 3 remains one of the most successful Malayalam films currently running in theatres.
