The recent arrest of the actor Allu Arjun has sent shockwaves in the film industry and among his fans. On Friday, following the incident, his uncle, megastar Chiranjeevi, and his wife Surekha were seen visiting Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills.
Their visit was marked by visible concern, as the couple avoided interaction with the gathered media while entering the house. A source close to the former chat show host revealed that Chiranjeevi will not visit Arjun at the police station as it would spark off more tensions as thousands of his fans showed up there.
The arrest follows the tragic death of a fan who lost his life during the premiere of his movie Pushpa 2: The Rule. This happened when Arjun, accompanied by his wife Sneha and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, went to watch a show at Sandhya Theatre on December 4.
An unscheduled visit led to a stampede in which a fan died and a young boy was hospitalised. The police claim that they were not alerted of the visit by Arjun and have subsequently filed cases against the actor and the theatre management. Up to now, four persons have been arrested in connection with the said incident.
Footage of Arjun’s arrest, where he can be seen accusing the police of entering his house without permission, has gone viral on social media. His wife Sneha, brother Allu Sirish, and father, producer Allu Aravind, were present when he was arrested. This controversy, coupled with the tragic fan incident, has sparked discussions about the responsibilities of celebrities during public events and crowd management.
