Music composer Palaash Muchhal was seen in public on Monday for the first time following his recent hospitalisation and the postponement of his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana. The appearance comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding personal matters, though Palaash maintained a composed demeanor throughout his outing.

The 28-year-old was spotted at the airport accompanied by his mother, Amita Muchhal, and other family members. Videos circulating on social media show him dressed in a black pajama set, black shirt, and jacket, carrying a book in hand, as he exited the terminal. Security personnel escorted him to his vehicle, and while Palaash kept a low profile, he did not avoid photographers and calmly acknowledged their presence. His mother was also seen interacting with someone outside the airport, who touched her feet in a traditional gesture of respect.

Palaash’s public appearance follows several days of health concerns. He was initially admitted to a hospital in Sangli after experiencing discomfort and received preliminary treatment. Persistent symptoms led to his transfer to a Mumbai hospital late Monday for further evaluation. Dr. Dipendra Tripathi told Midday that Palaash’s condition “appears to be linked to stress-related distress rather than a serious cardiac event,” confirming that his health is stable.

The composer and cricketer were scheduled to marry on November 23, but the ceremony was postponed after Smriti Mandhana’s father experienced a medical emergency. Palaash was hospitalised a day later, adding to the uncertainty around the wedding.

The first teaser for Rahi Anil Barve’s new feature Mayasabha: The Hall of Illusion has landed, giving audiences their earliest look at the filmmaker’s long-awaited return after Tumbbad in 2018. The clip signals that Barve’s command of mood is intact. The atmosphere is heavy, the pacing deliberate, and every frame is designed to unsettle. The film recently premiered at the Jagran Film Festival and has been selected for the WAVES Film Bazaar Viewing Room under the Indian Panorama section at IFFI, a placement that suggests strong industry interest.

The teaser leans into a vintage theatre world. Smoke hangs in the corners, a lone car sits in the shadows, and the lighting stays sparse. Barve uses silhouettes and muted tones to pull viewers into a place where the hunt for gold feels haunted. The setting works like a character of its own. Cracked walls, dim corridors, and a brief voice over with the line “mein raundhungi tohe,” translated as “I will trample on you,” push the tension higher.

The imagery hints at a story rooted in greed and ambition, strengthened by the sense that something long buried is about to surface. It also suggests a continuation of Barve’s fascination with the darker side of desire, rendered through a more contemporary visual approach.

If the finished film holds the promise of the teaser, Mayasabha could emerge as one of next year’s most intriguing theatrical releases.

Mayasabha – The Hall of Illusion is produced by Girish Patel and Ankur J Singh for Zirkon Films, with Shamrao Bhagwan Yadav, Chanda Shamrao Yadav, Keval Handa, and Manish Handa as co-producers. Ashish Ningurkar serves as creative consultant. Pickle Entertainment (Sameer Dixit and Rishikesh Bhirangi) present the film, which will be released across India and overseas in association with Zeus Film.

The first look of actor-musician Diljit Dosanjh from director Anurag Singh’s forthcoming film Border 2 was revealed on Monday. Here, he is seen as a combat pilot. Going by the picture, Dosanjh is seen in a pilot attire, looking battle-weary, flying a jet with enemy aircraft attacking him. The portrayal has all the elements of high-voltage aerial combats that form the basic plot of the film.

The Instagram post by the producers of the film, T-Series, carried the caption: “Iss desh ke aasmaan mein Guru ke baaz pehra dete hain,” setting the tone for the military drama that is the film. The first look received much attention for its seriousness. Suniel Shetty, who acted in the original Border released in 1997, reacted to the first look with clapping and heart emojis. Dosanjh also posted a video of himself in the pilot uniform, with the song Sandesa Aaya Hai from the original Border playing in the background.

Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and will be a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 war drama Border, which was focused on the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The ensemble cast for the original included Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The second instalment brings a new ensemble cast together including Sunny Deol in his reprising role, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa.

The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, is presented by T-Series in association with JP Films. Just like its predecessor, the sequel is also expected to be about the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers during wartime.

The film will hit theatres on January 23, 2026, joining several other films releasing on the occasion of the Republic Day weekend. First looks and promotions have been launched with Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan creating a buzz for their first looks that has set the stage for anticipation leading up to the theatrical release.

Indian cinema is all set to revisit the life and legacy of filmmaker V. Shantaram with a new biographical drama titled V. Shantaram. The film will see actor Siddhant Chaturvedi essaying the lead role, as part of one of his most demanding portrayals to date. The makers shared the first announcement poster, showcasing Chaturvedi’s look as the pioneering director, who is widely regarded as an early innovator of Indian cinema.

Speaking about essaying the role, Chaturvedi shared that this experience had been deeply challenging and reflective. He shared that during the research for the preparation of the project, the persistency and contribution to filmmaking by Shantaram left an indelible mark on him. “The more I read about his journey, the more humbled I felt,” he says, adding that this part is among the most transformative in his career.

Director Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande said that Shantaram has been a large influence on his own filmmaking. He spoke of the director as one whose willingness to experiment created much of the language of early Indian cinema. Deshpande said the team hopes to present Shantaram’s story with precision and dignity.

Producer Subhas Kale said the filmmaker’s legacy remains foundational to Indian cinema and noted that the project seeks to document his contributions and struggles. Co-producer Sarita Ashwin Varde added that while Shantaram’s influence is well acknowledged in film circles, broader recognition of his work has often lagged. She says the film intends to foreground his role in shaping early Indian filmmaking.

The biopic will track Shantaram from the silent film era through the introduction of sound and colour, showcasing his transition into one of India’s most influential early auteurs.

The film V. Shantaram, written and directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, is being produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale, and Sarita Ashwin Varde in association with Rajkamal Entertainment, Camera Take Films, and Roaring Rivers Productions.
