Ranveer Singh recently met spiritual leader Sadhguru at a time when the actor is facing controversy related to his exit from Don 3. Life is a phenomena beyond this nonsensical logical calculations about what is the purpose of this, what is the purpose of that, what is the use of this? There is no use. The interaction comes shortly after controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3. Reports state that the actor has been issued a non cooperation directive by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, also known as FWICE. The organisation reportedly claimed that Ranveer did not respond to several requests asking him to appear in person and explain his side regarding the matter.

Reports also stated that Excel Entertainment, the production company behind Don 3, has demanded ₹45 crore from the actor as compensation for pre production expenses linked to the project before his exit.

Following these developments, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson released a statement regarding the issue. “Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” a part of the statement read.

The actor has not made any direct public statement beyond this regarding the controversy.

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has openly spoken about the failure of Love Aaj Kal and admitted that connecting the movie to the original franchise may have been a mistake. The director revealed that the film was initially planned as a completely separate project titled Reverse before it was later linked to the Love Aaj Kal series.

Released in 2020, the film starred Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan in lead roles. However, after its release, the movie received heavy criticism from audiences and critics. Many viewers were unhappy with the screenplay, performances and emotional depth of the film.

During a recent interview with Zoom, Imtiaz Ali spoke about sequels and franchise films. He explained that he does not believe in making second parts only for commercial success. According to him, this approach did not work in the case of Love Aaj Kal 2.

Speaking about it, Imtiaz said, “Actually, it is not exciting to do a story for the reason that it’s a commercially viable thing. That’s a wrong way to start something. So I don’t want to do that. Unless there is something that is really pulling me to make a movie, a second part of a movie… Something just comes like that. But I’m not really keen to explore a part two just for the heck of it.”

The filmmaker further admitted that Love Aaj Kal 2 became an unsuccessful experiment for him. He said, “In Love Aaj Kal 2, I did that because I already had the story and I was excited about it. It didn’t work is a different matter. Love Aaj Kal 2 also told me that this is a useless experiment because it’s not even a viable project, if you don’t want to make it. Love Aaj Kal 2 was a story in itself. I could have made a different story.”

Imtiaz Ali also revealed that the film was originally supposed to have a different title. He shared, “There was a time when I was thinking about making a different story and not calling it Love Aaj Kal 2. I was calling it Reverse. But later on, it was decided that maybe it would be better to call it Love Aaj Kal 2, which was not a big service to the film.”

The original Love Aaj Kal starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan had received a positive response when it released in 2009.

Chunky explained that classical Bharatanatyam is an extremely difficult dance form that takes many years of training, discipline and practice to master. He said the film was not trying to show traditional Bharatanatyam in its pure form. Rather, the sequence was meant to mix traditional dance with futuristic and modern dance styles in a creative way. He requested audiences to first watch the film and understand the context before judging the performance.

In the film, Ananya plays Chandni, the daughter of a Bharatanatyam dancer played by Charu Shankar. Her character chooses to perform a modern fusion dance instead of a traditional Bharatanatyam routine, which becomes an important part of the scene. However, once the clip spread online, many viewers began comparing it to classical Bharatanatyam performances and criticised the choreography.

Well known dancer and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award winner Anita Ratnam also reacted strongly to the clip. She said Bharatanatyam is built on discipline, control, technique and emotional depth, and felt the performance failed to capture those qualities. Her comments quickly went viral and added more attention to the controversy.

Directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Dharma Productions, Chand Mera Dil is set in an engineering college and follows the emotional story of two young students dealing with love, responsibility and adulthood. Despite creating buzz online, the film has received mixed reviews and has earned just over ₹13 crore in its first five days at the box office.

Meanwhile, Chunky Panday is now preparing for the release of his upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai directed by David Dhawan. The movie stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in lead roles and is scheduled to release on June 4.

Ranveer Singh has once again found himself at the centre of controversy after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, also known as FWICE, issued a non cooperation directive against him on Monday. While the actor was already making headlines because of the Don 3 issue, he also visited the famous Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing Kantara mimicry controversy.

The temple visit comes after Ranveer had earlier apologised publicly for his comments and actions during the closing ceremony of International Film Festival of India 2025. During the event, the actor performed an exaggerated imitation of Rishab Shetty’s famous Daiva act from Kantara. Rishab Shetty was also present at the event when the incident took place.

The controversy grew bigger after Ranveer mistakenly referred to the Daivas as “ghosts” while performing on stage. This upset several people, with some claiming that the actor had insulted local culture and religious beliefs connected to the tradition shown in Kantara. A lawyer from Bengaluru later filed a complaint saying his religious sentiments had been hurt. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR against the actor.

Ranveer Singh later clarified that he never intended to disrespect anyone’s culture or traditions. Explaining his side, he said his intention was only to praise Rishab Shetty’s powerful acting performance in the film. He said that as an actor himself, he understood how difficult it must have been to perform such an intense scene. Ranveer also apologised to anyone who felt hurt by his words and said he has always respected every culture and belief in the country.

As part of his apology, Ranveer’s legal team informed the court earlier this year that the actor would visit the Chamundeshwari Temple to offer prayers and show respect. However, during the recent hearing, discussions took place regarding the timing of the visit. Ranveer reportedly told the court through an affidavit that fixing a date was difficult because of his busy schedule and security concerns.

The complainants argued that the actor’s statement about visiting the temple “in due course” sounded unclear and wanted the court to set a proper timeline. According to reports, Justice Nagaprasanna assured that the matter would be formally recorded and that Ranveer would complete the visit within four weeks.
